� Switching coupled to the door:Forced and visible disconnecting of a high voltageinstallation from a supplying bus bar while opening thedoor or lid of the equipment.

� Protection again unintended connection:An open door of the Disconnecting and Earthing Devicemay be fixed by up to three padlocks.

� Modular technology - compact dimensions:A new technology of permanent magnetic treating ofthe light arc enables very compact dimensions. Thebasic contacts are integrated into one module, whichmay be delivered with additional earthing contacts toconnecting capacitors to ground potential.

� One part for mounting to the left and right side:The ZH 1500 has provisions for fastening it to the leftor right wall of a switch gear cabinet and reduces thenumber of spare parts.

A typical domain of our Disconnecting and Earthing Deviceis the power supply and power distribution of railwaycoaches. It is used in environments with single and multi-ple voltages. But also in switch gear cabinets and prozesscontrol, where high voltage is used, this device is the safetystandard.

Our ZH 1500 guarantees safety while working oninstallations, where high voltage requires diconnecting andearthing. These applications are to be found whereelectricity drives large machines or where high powerconsumption requires high voltage. Examples are railwaycoaches as well as industrial automation and powerplants. A ZH 1500 is mounted to the wall of a switch gearcabinet and the lever is mounted to the door. Openingthe door moves the blades and contacts and diconnectingand earthing is done.

Ordering Information

Mounting Instructions:� ZH 1500 may be fastend to the left or to the right wall.

Four borings on the left and another four borings on theright lateral surface of the casing are provided.

� Orientation of the ZH 1500 has to be orthogonal to thedriving direction.

� The optional delivered Auxialiary Contacts have to bemounted within the switching cabinet. Actuation is doneby the locking mechanism of the cabinet.
