Direction to Hang Wall Art

Read all directions prior to beginning. Knowing the next step is the first step in a successful installation.

IntroductionHanging is quick and easy, but care should be taken when penetrating any wall. Walls have electric wire and pipes among other critical items which may make penetrating the wall a danger. If you are unfamiliar with the hazards in a wall, get help from someone who knows.

Your wall art comes with Wall-Dog™ anchor screws. Although Wall-Dog™ anchor screws are designed to screw directly into drywall, wood or metal studs, without the need to drill a hole, you may want to drill a 3/16 inch hole for easier screw-in. To screw into wood, plaster, or masonry (brick, cement, or stone), drilling a 3/16 inch hole is required.

Enclosed Items– Panel Wall Art– Wall-Dog™ anchor screws and washers– Wood shims. Two are needed. More than two are enclosed.

Tools Needed - Phillips head screw driver - Drill with a 3/16” bit. Optional for sheet rock, but needed for wood, plaster, or masonry.

Remove side panels from the center panel and wall track. Center panel is attached to wall track.

When determining placement on the wall, consider that room will be needed to slide on the panels and shim them. Two times the width of onepanel on either side will give enough room do this.

Place center panel and track on Wall and Mark one HolePlace on wall exactly where you want it. Leave space on either side to slide on side panels and shim. Two times the width of a side panel on either side of the track will provide the needed room.

Mark the center of one of the holes, then remove the piece from the wall. Don't bother to level it right now. The piece will be leveled after one screw is installed.

Remove the piece from the wall. Circle your mark so that you can find it in the next step.

Drill Hole or Start ScrewIf a hole will be drilled, drill a 3/16 inch hole.If a hole will not be drilled, partially screw in the Wall-Dog™ screw. Screw it in just enough to get the hole started. This will make hanging the piece easier. Remove the screw.

Place Piece on Wall and Insert First Screw and LevelPlace a washer on a screw, place the piece on the wall, and loosely screw in. The screw should be looseenough to rotate the piece.

The screw should be loose enough so you can rotate the piece to level it. Any method you use to level a picture should work. Some methods are: measure down from the ceiling, use a level, or in many cases the best way is have someone hold it in position and “eye it up”. Once level, Mark the second hole.

Second ScrewRotate the piece out of the way, and drill. If not drilling, rotate the piece out of the way and start the second screw, then remove it.In either case, rotate the piece back in position, place washer on screw and screw piece on wall.

Tighten Both Screws

Tighten both screws. Do not over tighten. The wood wall track may crack. Once piece is snug to wall, stop tightening. Screws should be snug only...that is it.

Slide on Panels

Slide on panels using the orientation shown. This orientation works with the panels regardless of the side you put the panel on. Although there might be an obvious side where the panel looks right, it is your choice. Depending on the piece, the side panels might slide behind the center panel.

Panels Prior to Lock-In

Since wood changes with temperature and moisture, panels might be loose on the track. Because of this, the panels might be crooked. Panels also need to be locked-in to prevent them from moving or falling.

Panel Lock-InLock panels in by sliding in the wood shim as shown in picture. It is best to slide into the top side of the track. Push shim in, but as with the wall screws, don't jam it in to hard or bang it in with a hammer or shoe. Damage may occur. Someday the panel might need to be taken off so you can get at the screw. Just push in the shim with your hand until it is snug.

Locking the panels will straighten the panel and prevent it from sliding off.

If panel fits tight and a shim can not be put in, skip putting in the shim.

Break off shim by moving it up or down. The panel should be straight and locked-in.

Room to put in the shims is another reason that wall placement should leave room on either side ofthe wall art.

That's it.
