As one of the leading museums and visitor attractions in the South West, with over 100,000 visitors annually, you will be joining a dynamic and engaged team of over 120 staff and volunteers. The Museum has over 400 vehicles and as a charity it has three core aims: Preservation, Restoration and Education. The Museum also operates several businesses that donate all of their profits to support these charitable aims; those businesses are: Venue Hire: We offer one of the South West’s premier venue hire facilities, hosting conferences, events, exhibitions and functions throughout the year The Museum Workshop and Restoration Centre: We not only preserve and restore the Museum’s vehicle collection but we also offer those services to a local and international client base of veteran, vintage, classic and modern sports and supercar owners The Museum Shop: The Shop offers a vast selection of automobilia and will shortly be launching an online retail platform As a planned expansion of the marketing team we are now looking for a dynamic, confident and creative professional to transform the digital marketing and communications of both the Museum and associated businesses. Role Summary The Digital Marketing and Communications Executive will oversee the online marketing and digital communications strategy for both the Museum and associated Limited Company businesses, namely: Venue Hire, the Museum Shop and the Workshop and Restoration Centre. He/she will plan and execute digital marketing campaigns across all digital channels, maintain and supply content for the organisation's website(s) and develop/execute communication strategies to engage with the public through social media and other digital platforms to ensure visitor flow to those sites. The role will also require analysis and reporting of website visitor flow, using that data to devise new ways to market products. • Oversee social media strategy

• Manage and maintain the website

• Write and optimise content for the website and all social networking platforms

• Track and analyse website traffic flow and provide regular internal reports

• Meet key performance indicators such as reducing the website bounce rate, increasing

dwell time or improving conversion

• Continually work on the Search Engine Optimisation of the website

• Fix any errors or bugs in online content

• Edit and post videos, podcasts and audio content to online sites

• Arrange webinars and webcasts (future)

• Oversee pay per click (PPC) ad management and execute third party website advertising

• Write copy for email marketing campaigns

• Identify new trends in digital marketing, evaluate new technologies and ensure the

brand is at the forefront of industry developments, particularly developments in mobile

marketing (training and continuous personal development is a core value of the

Museum)

• Work with other members of the marketing team supporting the integration of online

content with printed material

Key Skills

• Editing and copywriting skills: You will need to devise and edit suitable content for

various digital platforms, reflecting the Museums brand values in all communications

(Essential)

• Verbal communication: You will need to be able to explain coherently to others, who

may not be familiar with the medium, how digital technologies work and what their

marketing application is

• Video editing and photography skills: Website and social media content will not just be

text but frequently visual as well

(Desirable)

• Web development skills: knowledge of HTML/JavaScript

• Strong knowledge of website CMS editing

• Search engine optimisation

• Advanced MS Office skills

• Project management skills: You will need to be good at handling time-sensitive projects

and working to deadlines

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree in marketing, or a professional marketing qualification

(Desirable)

• Membership of the CIM or similar

(Desirable)

Experience

• Experience of between one and three years in digital communications and marketing

and able to clearly demonstrate prior experience of all the Key Tasks listed above

(Essential)

• Experience or qualifications in other marketing related disciplines such as graphic design

would be helpful but not essential

(Desirable)

Salary

A very competitive salary commensurate with experience will be offered. The prospect for

career development and promotion is good.

Hours, Culture and Structure

This is a full time role. Standard office hours are 9:00 am - 5.30 pm. The job is predominantly

office-based but you will be expected to attend networking events, tradeshows and other

events as part of the role. The open plan office is busy and all staff are engaged and

supportive with a “Nothing is too much trouble” approach.

You will report directly to the Commercial Director and work on a daily basis alongside the

Marketing and Events Executive, interacting across all departments of the Museum and

associated Limited Company businesses.
