Digital Citizenship Unit Task Analysis Step Action Description Step 1 Day 1 Introduction Hello. My name is Mrs. Howard and for the next three days I will be teaching you about being cyber citizens. Step 2 Day 1 Unit Overview Explain the agenda of the unit and activities to be completed. Step 3 Day 1 Review the “Question Chart” Pass out the chart. Explain the purpose of the “Question Chart”. Explain the 4 columns of the chart. Step 4 Day 1 Complete Column 1 What do you know? Engage learners in a brief discussion in which they define the online issues that affect them in daily use. Identify, explain and analyze the dangers in each issue. List appropriate answers in the first column of the chart. Step 5 Day 1 Complete Column 2 What do you want to know? o Question students on where their knowledge is lacking. o What do they feel they should know about the issues and their role as cyber citizens? List responses in column two of the chart. Step 6 Day 1 Review the Reference Sheet Pass out the reference sheet. Students will read the reference sheet individually Students will meet in small groups to discuss the reference sheet. Students will discuss the reference sheet as a class. Step 8 Day 1 Complete Column 3 What have you learned? List responses in column 3. Step 9 Day 1 Complete Column 4 How can you lead others in learning? Students will brainstorm ways to spread the knowledge they have gained from the lesson. List responses in column 4. Step 10 Day 2 Presentation Introduce presentation guidelines Review presentation rubric. Student will choose a presentation method of their choice and complete a presentation that leads others to learning about being a cyber citizen. Step 11 Day 3 Reflection Students will choose from one of three discussion topics and complete a 500 word reflection. Step 12 Day 3 Participants complete questionnaire Have participants complete a questionnaire via Google form.
