What is a Digipak? What is the purpose? A digipak is a type of
packaging for CDs and DVDs. It will usually be made out of cardboard with multiple holders allowing for multiple discs.
To promote an album. To list the content of the album. To use corporate identity of the
band/artist as a recurring theme.
To use art/images to express a message.
To attract not just fans, but a wider audience.
Revenue for record label. Provide fans with more than just
a song but also physical things such as psoters.
Conventional Features… 6 panels of design showing a consistent style. Front Cover name of the band + the album title, (engaging
image). Spine album title, band name + record co. label/logo. Back Cover track list, barcode. Synergy = address (URL),
copyright information and artwork. CDs Booklet lyrics, personal message from artist, artwork, credit
to those involved in production. Posters
