Did you know?
If you read (or are read to) for 20 minutes a day, you’ll hear 1,800,000 words a year! Language acquisition is so important for communicating and understanding which is why finding time to
read with our children is vital!
Happy Summer Holidays!
As we begin our well deserved break from learning, after what has been a very challenging year, there is one thing we can continue to ask our children to do for 10 minutes each day throughout summer– reading! Reading takes so many forms from reading about a subject that interests them, treasure map clues, a recipe or a set of ‘How to’ instructions, attraction leaflets—it is all reading!
Summer Bingo!
On the following pages, you will see a KS1 (Sheet B) and a KS2 (Sheet 1) reading bingo
challenge.
We have chosen this one because we think it is easily accessible to all. All you need to do to play along is print off the sheets you need and keep a record of all the wonderful reading you
enjoy over the summer!
Bring your completed card back to school in September or send us a picture on Class Dojo
to receive a Reading Certificate!
