Q: Do I have to tell anyone about my vote?A: No! texas maintains the secrecy of the ballot. Poll workers keep

only a list of who voted, not how they voted. No record of howyou or any other voter filled out their ballot is created other thanyour anonymous ballot. Your choices cannot be matched up withyour name. Additionally, voting booths provide a private place foryou to fill out your ballot.

texas makes sure that you can vote free from intimidation. Aset of rules is enforced at each polling place to ensure that votersare comfortable casting votes for whomever they prefer. Forexample, poll workers are not permitted to ask who you voted for,and campaigning is prohibited inside of or near polling places.

Q: Do I need a photo ID to vote?A: usually, but not always! If you swear or affirm that you have a

reasonable impediment to getting ID (like a lack oftransportation or work/family responsibilities), and providealternative proof of ID (like a paycheck or utility bill), you mayvote without photo ID.
