Mabie House is the perfect setting for your ‘special day’. Although on the outskirts of Dumfries and within easy travelling distance from Gretna Green, many couples choose to have their wedding ceremony here as well as their reception. Originally from Scotland and born in Argyllshire, Kathryn married and moved to America and

raised two children, starting her wedding photography business in the spring of 2000.

The business, A.T. Cameron Photography, is named for her late father and the red bird logo is a

reminder of his grace and love of nature.

Building a successful wedding and portrait business in SW Pennsylvania and in demand to

photograph weddings several states away, travel has never been an issue for Kathryn.

“Maine and NYC are a couple of places I have been. I love to photograph in a new area – I bring

a different perspective to a wedding shoot and can see angles and scenes that others cant.

There is a challenge and that keeps my work fresh and exciting. “

More recently, Kathryn moved back to Dumfries and Galloway to be with her childhood

sweetheart, Andrew Briggs, also from Argyll, but she has lived in the area for almost 30 years.

“It is a lovely area and we are so happy to be back together and living in Castle Douglas. I

am looking forward to photographing in the Dumfries and Galloway area – the scenery is

beautiful and inspiring.”

While there are so many things to plan with a wedding, couples should keep in mind that their

photographer should be with them the entire day and they need to feel comfortable with that

person to make their wedding images come alive..
