INTRODUCTION TO THE QUAIL INSTITUTEFollowing the changing landscape of the golf industry, the Quail
Institute has been developed to respond to both the industry
and individual needs within the club profession. The Institute
focuses on the skills and competencies required to fully develop
club industry professionals into an advocate for leading change.
The learning gained by the fellows will filter not only to the
direct stakeholders involved in the program but also the wider
club industry having positive effects for the profession. The
program will take on three fellows in the areas of Agronomy,
Golf Operations and Club Management selecting the very best
candidates to undertake the program.
VISIONTo create and perpetuate a vibrant and diverse learning
environment that helps develop the next generation of
leaders in golf while fostering innovative best practices in
golf management to be shared around the world.
THE FELLOWSHIPA fellow is a member of a group of people whowork together
in a fellowship pursuing mutual knowledge or practice. There
are many different kinds of fellowships which are awarded for
different reasons in academia and industry, often indicating an
advanced level of scholarship.

THE CURRICULUMThe curriculum has been designed to go far beyond the current
club curriculums being delivered today, it has been designed to
develop the leaders of tomorrow. The curriculum takes a holistic
approach exploring the key business competencies and
leadership abilities needed to drive success. The curriculum
forces fellows to pursue critical thinking, challenging them
to analyze and assess practices and then create, lead and
implement change.

THE CURRICULUM – IN VI MODULESThe curriculum is covered in six modules split into two categories; core modules and
workshop modules. Each module has been specifically designed to enable the fellows
to understand both the macro and micro challenges of not just their sector, but also
the wider club industry. The objective is to develop each fellow to encompass abroad
range of skills to ensure they go forward an affect change in the industry.

will track the successes of the Alumni. These successes will be
documented and communicated. The Alumni could also be
invited back to the Institute for mentoring opportunities as well
as to gather together for certain special events.
