On 24th April 2013, 1133 people were killed and over 2500 were injured when the Rana Plaza factory complex collapsed in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Catastrophes in our fashion supply chains continue.

Fashion Revolution Day says enough is enough.

This annual appointment on the anniversary of the disaster will help to raise awareness of the true cost of fashion, show the world that change is possible, and celebrate all those involved in creating a more sustainable future for fashion.

The theme of the first Fashion Revolution Day is ‘Who Made Your Clothes’ (and no we don’t just mean which brand....we mean who? literally!)

Imagine the thread from the garment, to the machinist who sewed it, all the way down to the farmer who grew the cotton.

We’ve come up with a few ways in which you can participate in Fashion Revolution Day

We want you to ask, WHOMADE YOUR CLOTHES? in order to discover the real people throughout the supply chain

BE CURIOUS FIND OUT DO SOMETHING

We want you to wear an item of clothing #InsideOut

Choose an item from your outfit and wear it inside out all day

We want hundreds of thousands of people to TAKE PART!

In order to raise awareness within the fashion industry and beyond, we want to encourage them to continue to try and make things better

With these three simple actions we invite everyone to join Fashion Revolution Day!

Write a letter/email, Facebook or Tweet the brand concerned, ask them Who Made Your Clothes?

Take a picture of yourself. Share on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with #inside-out and @(brand/retailer) and @fash_rev with the question Who Made Your Clothes?

On Fashion Revolution Day 24 April, please Tweet: Today I’m wearing my (shirt/dress/T-shirt etc.) #insideout because I want to ask @(brand/retailer) Who Made My Clothes?

Contact the brand asking ‘who made your clothes.’ Let us know if the brand replies and what they say

Tell your friends, family and colleagues about Fashion Revolution Day and get them to wear something inside out

Ask your social network followers to post pictures of themselves wearing something inside out with the #insideout and @fash_rev

Have a late-night shopping event at one of your stockists or in your flagship store

Have a video or pictures of your producers or a skype link to them so customers can connect with them

Set up a ‘photo booth’ where customers can have a picture taken or make a video. Get them to upload on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the #insideout
