Goal of the ProjectImagine you work for the Willy Wonka Factory. You have to invent a candy. The most original and tasty candy will be made and sold around the world. To enter in this contest, you must:

1) Design your own candy (ingredients, shape, flavours, etc)2) Design the packaging 3) Invent a name and logo for your new candy4) Write a salespitch to promote your candy5) Prepare a presentation board with an image of your

candy, the logo, the name of your candy bar and your salespitch text.

The Sales Pitch• Who is your target? (Children, Adults, Elderly

people)• Get the attention of the reader / listener• Focus on what makes your product more

original and better • Make the good ingredients stand out• Use eloquent and positive language.

Sales Pitch - Strutcure1) Name of your candy2) Tagline: someting that will catch the attention of the reader / listenerExample: ‘There’s no wrong way to eat a Reese’s’ 3) Introduction: Focus on the ingredients and what is good about your ingredients. 4) Body of text: After you wrote about your ingredients, try to sell your candy. What makes it different from other candy?5) Conclude: review 2 or 3 key elements very shortly = what should the reader / listener remember?

Instructions• Individual work• Can be any type of candy (gum, chocolate,

etc)• Sales pitch should be between 75 to 100

words. (one copy for teacher and one copy that you will glue on your presentation board)

• On presentation board (Bristol Board) – put an image of your candy, the tagline, the logo and the sales pitch text.

Evaluation – C3• Grammar, syntax, and vocabulary• Strucutre of text (short introduction, body and

short conclusion)• Originality• Varied adjectives to describe your candy (use

a thesaurus)

Schedule• March 24th: You will display your presentation

boards in class and present your candy to the rest of the class.

• It is not an ‘official’ oral presentation as you will take turns walking around in class and talking about your candy.

• At the end of the class, we will vote for which candy we will ‘make’.
