ABSTRACT
In the field of aerospace the use of electricmotors for various applications is increasing day by day.Earlier, brushed DC motors were restricted due to theirinherent drawbacks. With the advant of high powermagnets and application of technologies of powerelectronics the use of brushless dc motor is increasing dayby day.
The brushed dc motors are having disadvantages ofsparking,wear and tear of brushes and commutator and low
reliability.In BLDC motor in place of brushes and mechanical
commutator an electronic commutator is used.
The proposed project aims at designing a BLDCmotor for given specifications with detailed analysis of
desi n e uations, materials, rocessors, testin etc.

BLDC MOTOR
Introduction: A brushless DC (BLDC) motor is a rotating electric
machine where the stator is a classic three-phase stator
like that of an induction motor and the rotor hassurface-mounted permanent magnets
It is an electronically controlled commutation system,instead of a mechanical commutation system (i.e.brushes)
The commutation function may be performed byvarious shaft position sensors . Small inexpensivemotors use Hall effect sensors. A Hall effect sensor is asemiconductor device .
