LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST PREPARATION OF THE GIFTS Peter & Kevin Hartley OFFERTORY HYMN Come As You Are

(sung by Mary Hartley)

1. Come as you are, that’s how I want you. Come as you are, feel quite at home. Close to my heart, loved and forgiven; come as you are, why stand alone?

3. I came to call sinners, not just the virtuous. I came to bring peace, not to condemn. Each time you fail to live by my promise, why do you think I’d love you the less?

4. Come as you are, that’s how I love you. Come as you are, trust me again. Nothing can change the love that I bear you. All will be well, just come as you are.

READING Romans 14:7-9

from the letter of St Paul to the Romans

read by Monica Smith

We do not live to ourselves,

and we do not die to ourselves.

If we live, we live to the Lord,

and if we die, we die to the Lord;

so then, whether we live or whether we die,

we are the Lord’s.

For to this end Christ died and lived again,

so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

We shall all stand before the judgment seat of God.

For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord,

every knee shall bow to me,

and every tongue shall give praise to God.”

So then, each of us will be accountable to God.

The Word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

READING 2 Timothy 4:6-8

from the second letter of St Paul to Timothy

read by Kevin Lappin

As for me,

my life is already being poured away as a libation,

and the time for my departure has come.

I have fought the good fight,

I have finished the race,

I have kept the faith.

From now on there is reserved for me

the crown of righteousness,

which the Lord, the righteous judge,

will give me on that day,

and not only to me

but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

The Word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.
