Program Outcomes (POs)

Engineering knowledge (PO1): Apply the knowledge of mathematics,

science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization

to the solution of complex engineering problems.

Problem analysis (PO2): Identify, formulate, review research

literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching

substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics,

natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

Design/development of solutions (PO3): Design solutions for

complex engineering problems and design system components or

processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate

consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal,

and environmental considerations.

Conduct investigations of complex problems (PO4): Use research-

based knowledge and research methods including design of

experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the

information to provide valid conclusions.

Modern tool usage (PO5): Create, select, and apply appropriate

techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including

prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an

understanding of the limitations.

The engineer and society (PO6): Apply reasoning informed by the

contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and

cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the

professional engineering practice.

Environment and sustainability (PO7): Understand the impact of the

professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental

contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable

development.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs) PSO 1: Graduates will be able to solve real life problems of power

system and power Electronics using Power World, PSIM and MATLAB

software tools and hardware.

PSO 2: Able to provide socially acceptable technical solutions to

complex electrical engineering problems with the application of

modern and appropriate techniques for sustainable development.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

PEO 1: Graduates will be able to solve engineering / industrial

problems by employing various learning resources and modern tools

and can pursue higher education in various specialization of electrical

engineering.

PEO 2: Graduates will be able to design products to meet social,

economic and environmental demand by innovative ideas.

PEO 3: Graduates will be able to investigate complex problems and

take up research and development work in the allied fields through

innovation and entrepreneurship.

PEO 4: Graduates will be able to communicate effectively through oral

and written presentation of technical reports, adopting lifelong

learning with integrity and ethics; and they will have interpersonal

skills required to lead and nurture diverse teams, thus contributing

towards the growth and development of society.

standards. The department ensures that the students are well equipped with

periodically reviewed & upgraded almost in every semester. Experiments are

SURGE-Wall Magazine of EE The Department of Electrical Engineering of Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Degree

Engineering College released the 1stissue of the departmental wall magazine on

September, 2017. SURGE provides a unique opportunity for the students/faculty

to express their thoughts on different emerging areas of Electrical Engineering.

The 2ndissue was released one month later which had an e-magazine version for

the first time as decided by the editorial board. The SURGE e-magazine had its

reach to various departments of several institutes which gained popularity &

received appreciation with time. We try to keep an eye on every innovative ideas

of igniting minds so that they can be reflected through SURGE. SURGE has

celebrated its 1st anniversary on 25th September, 2018.

Innovative Project Competition Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Degree Engineering College had organized a two day

Innovative Project Competition to showcase innovative thoughts of young

technocrats of our college on 19th -20th February, 2019. Around 40 numbers of

student projects were submitted by the students from Computer Science,

Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Automobile

Engineering. The students from Computer Science, Electronics & Communication,

and Electrical Engineering enthusiastically participated in the competition on

19th February, 2019. On 20th February 2019, the students from Mechanical, Civil

and Automobile Engineering took part in the competition. The projects submitted

by the students covered working models of following broad areas.

Robotics application

Fire-fighting system

Laser light based security system

Renewable Energy

Sensor based energy saving

Home Automation

IOT based applications

Environmental applications

Hybrid Electric Vehicle

All students participated with great zeal. The program was coordinated by the

The Annual Tech Fest "Manthan2K19" was held with zeal and enthusiasm on 4th

and 5th April, 2019.The program was Inaugurated by Chief Guest Prof. S.M.

Chatterjee, Chairman, Board of Governors and the Guest of Honours Prof. Ajay

Kumar Ray, Ex-Director, IIEST, Shibpur, Mr. Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS

Group, Mr. Amanjot Singh, Director, JIS Group, Sh. S.S. Duttagupta, Director, JIS

EE,Convenor of Manthan 2K19 on 4th April, 2019. Prof.S.M. Chatterjee in his

opening remark urged the stakeholders to work hard to make the institution a

global Institution of the Nation. The Inaugural speech was delivered by Prof. Ajay

Kumar Ray, Ex-Director, IIEST, Shibpur highlighting the need of modern education

system. This year Manthan2K19 had fourteen different events spectrum spread

over two days. The budding technocrats under the guidance of their faculty

coordinators have come up with many skillful ideas enriched of technical events

like Robotix, Mini-Hackathan, Code Mania, App Challenge, DIG-CAD Competition, 3-

D model design, Picturesque, Penmmannship, Wall Magazine, Argumentals,

Technodox, Onkonomic Encounter, Gamearena etc. More than 400 students

participated from various institutions of West Bengal in Manthan 2K19. The whole

event was coordinated by Dr. Ranjit Roy, Professor& Head, Electrical Engineering

Department.
