    The A-Darter may be designated toa target by using the aircraftsradar, a helmet sight or the missilesvery effective autonomous scanfeature if radar silence is required.The seekers large look-angles and

    the airframes agility enable highoff-boresight helmet-designatedfirings. Long-range interceptsbeyond IR detection range are alsopossible with the lock-on afterlaunch capability of the A-Darter.

    The A-Darter missile can be

    integrated on the latest and oldergeneration aircraft platforms. It hasalready been integrated on theJAS-39 Gripen. Integration on theHawk Mk 120 is under way. Thewingless missile design promotes alow-risk integration process.

    The ALRRT (Alert) armed, long-range, reconnaissance turret adds to the operationaleffectiveness of the highly lethal Ingwe anti-armour missile.     Ingwe (African for leopard) is a jam-resistant, beam-rider missile with a tandem warhead

    that will penetrate up to 1 000 mm of Rolled Homogeneous Armour (RHA) after a single layer

    of reactive armour. It is designed to operate with the minimum of logistics support, making it

    ideal for severe or isolated battle conditions. It is suitable for deployment by infantry,

    armoured and helicopter forces.

    DESCRIPTIONMokopa is a state-of-the-art,long-range, precision-guided,anti-armour missile.     SYSTEM OPERATION (SAL VERSION)Prior to launch, target information must be supplied via the on-boardsighting system or from an external source.     The Umkhonto Ground-based Launcher (GBL) is a versatile, compact and mobile surface-to-air missile vertical launching system providing all-round defence against simultaneous airattacks from multiple combat aircraft (fixed- or rotary-wing) and missiles.     The Skua is a high-speed targetdrone designed to simulatehigh-speed attack aircraft duringweapon development as well asland, sea and air combat training.The Skua has an all-composite,low-drag airframe with a wingspanof 3.57 m and length of 6 m. Winghard-points are provided to carry upto 130 kg of tow-targets andsignature augmentation equipment.An internal bay can house apayload of up to 30 kg.

    Launcher

    The zero-length launcher is easilydeployed. It includes self-loadingand engine-starting facilities.

    OPERATION

    Deployment

    The system is easily transportable

    by land, sea and air, and can bedeployed in less than a day. Nosophisticated range equipment isrequired for system operation.

    Flight Control

    Following launch, all flight pathand drone manoeuvres arecontrolled by a telecommand andtelemetry link between the droneand ground station. The drone canalso fly autonomously to a

    programmed mission plan.

    Recovery

    A two-stage parachute system isused to recover the drone. Thedrone lands in an invertedhorizontal position on pneumaticlanding bags. It can also berecovered over water.

    Ground Control Station

    The mobile ground control stationhouses the control interfaces,telecommand and telemetryequipment required to control thedrone. Tracking is done viaposition feedback from the dronesnavigation system.
