GATE Festival After School Program

There will be a GATE Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting for parents of returning GATE students on September 24, 2019 and a meeting for parents of newly qualified GATE students on October 1, 2019. Meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. in the Student Support Services Building. Come learn how to assist your child with his/her GATE Festival report & project and receive information about the DUSD GATE Program. GATE students planning to participate in the 2019-2020 GATE Festival are encouraged to attend one of these informational meetings with a parent.

District GATE Festival.

The GATE Festival provides an opportunity for GATE students to research, in depth, a topic of interest. Students complete a 2-5 page typed report and create a unique project to present and display at the GATE Festival. Students work with a GATE Facilitator to select and apply the elements of depth and complexity to their report and project.

Students use the GATE Festival Rubric as a guide in the creation of their report and project. Final projects must meet the criteria in the 3-4 range on the rubric to qualify for display and receive a medal at the GATE Festival. Additionally, students must complete and submit all paperwork by the required deadlines in order to participate in the GATE Festival. Students who are unable to attend the after school program may sign an independent project contract and work on their project from home. Students who work independently are subject to the same deadlines as those who attend the meetings.

Programa Después de Clases del Festival GATE

5-2-20
