December 3rd, 2015

It’s hard to believe that we are already starting December! It’s a short month, but we have lots packed into it. Please

make sure to come out and support the Fraasch family this Sunday, Dec. 6th at Speedway from 10:30-1:00. Silent auction

ends at 2:00. Thanks to all of you that are donating bars and/or your time to support them. Our St. Lawrence family is amaz-

ing as Mrs. Weissenfluh and I both know! Keep the prayers coming for Wayde and his family. God is good!

This month the students are learning about patience with the Fruit of the Spirit. What a perfect choice for Advent! The pa-

tience God is talking about is for those little things like waiting to open your Christmas presents or being patient to go some-

where. It also means to be patient for answers to prayer that might take time to be answered. The best part of being patient

is the joy we receive on Christmas Day when we get to celebrate the birth of Jesus! He is the greatest gift ever given. Imagine

how patient those that came before Christ must have been waiting for the Savior to be born! The fifth graders are leading the

school in making placemats for Meals on Wheels recipients as their Fruit of the Spirit service project.

Tuesday, December 8th is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. It is a holy day of obligation therefor the students

will be attending Mass at 8:30. The 4th graders are in charge of the liturgical duties. Please have the students wear their Mrs.

Weissenfluh shirts on Tuesday and blue and khakis on Friday for Mass at 8:30. The 6th graders are taking on the liturgical du-

ties Friday. Please join us if you can!

The Christmas program is right around the corner. I will attach the lyrics to the back of the newsletter in case your child

needs them to practice. If you could take a bit of extra time with your child each night up until the program to work on their

songs that would help our practices go smoothly. Take time to look over what the kids are supposed to wear on the lyrics

sheet. This will help you find clothing prior to the program if needed. Thank you!

The kindergarten parents are asked to each bring one pan of large CUT bars for treats after the program on the 16th.

Please deliver them to the kitchen with a note attached so we know they are for the Christmas Program. We don’t want to get

them confused with any other functions that are going on for the parish. The 6th grade parents are asked to serve and clean

up after the program. Thank you so much for your extra help!

The 5th graders have had the opportunity to work with Chief VanVooren and complete the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance

Education) program. They will be graduating on Friday, Dec. 18th at 9:30 after Mass. A special thank you to Chief VanVooren

for instilling in our youth the commitment to be upstanding citizens.

We sat in the fields with our flocks this night, The angel came it was such a fright! "Don't be afraid" he said, "Good News! it's joy for all of you!" Let's Find Baby Jesus in Bethlehem!* 2. "This day in David's Town you'll see the Saviour who will set you free." "And here's the sign," the Angel said, "A manger for his bed..."* 3. We were amazed but then we saw the sky was filled with thousands more All angels praising God - it's true! There's one thing left to do...!* 8. We Three Kings- 3rd, 4th, Kings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8XKEvClA-k

Field and fountain, moor and mountain, Following yonder star.* *O star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright, Westward leading still proceeding, Guide us to Thy perfect light. 2. King Melchior: Born a King on Bethlehem's plain, Gold I bring to crown Him again, King forever, ceasing never, Over us all to reign.* 3. King Gaspar: Frankincense to offer have I, Incense owns a Deity nigh, Prayer and praising, Gladly raising, Worship Him God on high.* 4. King Balthasar: Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume, Breathes a life of gathering gloom, Sor-r'wing, sighing, Bleeding, dying, Sealed in the stone cold tomb.* 5. Glorious now, behold him arise, King and God and Sacrifice, "Alleluia, Alleluia!" Sounds through the earth and skies.* 9. The Friendly Beasts- Pre-Kdg-1st-2nd, 3rd, 5th http://youtu.be/4Po10YPi4Hc

1. Jesus our brother, kind and good. Was humbly born in a stable rude

And the friendly beasts around Him stood. Jesus our brother, kind and good. 2. "I," said the donkey, shaggy and brown, "I carried His mother up hill and down; I carried her safely to Bethlehem town." "I," said the donkey, shaggy and brown. 3. "I," said the cow, all white and red "I gave Him my manger for a bed; I gave Him my hay to pillow His head." "I," said the cow, all white and red. 4. "I," said the sheep with curly horn, "I gave Him my wool for His blanket warm; He wore my coat on Christmas morn." "I," said the sheep with curly horn. 5. I said the duck with orange bill. I gave Him my feathers for pillows to fill. The warmth of my down will comfort and still. I said the duck with orange bill. 6. I said the goat with fuzzy beard. My warm milk will nurture through-out the year. I may be stubborn, but also bring cheer. I said the goat with fuzzy beard. 7. I said the mouse all pink and gray. I hurried and scurried to see Him today. This baby's our savior He'll show us the way. I said the mouse all pink and gray. 8. Thus every beast by some good spell In the stable dark was glad to tell Of the gift he gave Emmanuel, The gift he gave Emmanuel.
