DECEMBER FAMILY PROJECTTheme: Ornaments / Snowman

Teachers:For this monthly home project, we wanted to give a couple different options so that you can choose which (or both) designs would work for your classroom.

Option 1: Each student will get an ornament page to decorate. To make sure that there are many varieties of ornaments, send home 1 design with half your class, and the other design with the other half. Once returned, the ornaments can be hung on a classroom tree cut out of butcher paper. This would make a great door decoration!

Option 2: Each student will get a snowman page to color and decorate. You could read the book, Snowmen At Night to talk about what their snowman could be doing.

Option 3: Combine both projects and send home the students with one of the options. You could create a whole winter scene with a tree and snowmen!

December Family ProjectDear Parents,Winter is such a beautiful time of the year and we want to decorate our classroom to show it! Please choose one (or both) of the ornaments and decorate it so that we can hang it up on our classroom tree.

For this project, we ask that you and your child decide which ornament to decorate and get creative! You can use anything you find throughout the house: fabric, paint, feathers, cotton balls, gli tter, ribbon, sequins, etc. to decorate your ornament. Please don’t forget to have your child write their name on the back of the ornament and cut it out.

Please note that the purpose of Family Projects is to not only have fun and work together, but to have your child feel comfortable showing their work to their friends back at school.

Please complete the project as a family and turn it in by: ___________________
