PRAYER LINE ~ Did you know that the parishes of St.

Ann and St. Vincent de Paul have a prayer line? This prayer

line is for the benefit of the sick, the homebound, and any-

one in need of prayer. How the prayer line works: the first

person on the prayer line (Maureen at 637-0704 or Virginia

at 499-0323) receives your call and notes the prayer re-

quest; she then relays the intention to the next person, etc.

Everyone on the prayer line then includes your intention in

their daily prayers. All requests are on a first name basis

and are confidential.

Advent Wreaths and Replacement Candles

New Advent Wreaths and replacement candles are avail-

able at the church office, Monday through Friday, between

8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for the wreath kit and

$5 for replacement candles.

Remember our Food Pantry

Please consider bringing a food

item for our Food Pantry box at

the entrance of the Church. With

the holidays upon us, many fami-

lies are in dire need and many new

families will be seeking our help.

Any items you can share with our extended com-

munity are always so appreciated.

Today’s Deadline for Advent Angels Gifts

If you haven’t already returned your Advent Angel gift(s),

please do so by the end of the day today. Keep your gift

unwrapped but with the Christmas Angel attached so that

we may get it to the right individual. The deadline for your

gift is today, Dec. 13th.

Please bring your gift and place it at the front of the Altar or

at the tree, or on the rectory porch. If you have any ques-

tions, please cal Meg Seminara at 637-3114 or Vicki Holt at

637-2005.

Short Excerpts

Taken from Pope Francis’ Addresses And Homilies

CHOOSE LIFE

All too often, as we know from experience, people do not

choose life; they do not accept the “Gospel of Life” but let

themselves be led by ideologies and ways of thinking that

block life, that do not respect life, because they are dictated

by selfishness, self-interest, profit, power, and pleasure and

not by love, by concern for the good of others. It is the

eternal dream of wanting to build the city of man without

God, without God’s life and love - a new Tower of Babel.

It is the idea that rejecting God, the message of Christ, the

Gospel of Life, will somehow lead to freedom, to complete

human fulfillment. As a result, the Living God is replaced

by a flash of freedom but in the end bring new forms of

slavery and death. . . Let us always remember: the Lord is

the Living One, he is merciful. The Lord is the Living One,

he is merciful.

This excerpt was taken from the book, “Pope Francis Speaks to

Our Hearts, Words of Challenge and Hope” by the Word

Among Us.

Sacred Heart Sunday Readings Discussion Group

The discussion group meets each Wednesday for about

1/2 hour, following their 9 a.m. Mass, in their church’s Par-

ish Center. The format is informal: review the readings,

share your response with others, followed by common

prayer. For more information, please call James at 344-

4526. Everyone is welcome!

DIAPER DROP OFF - St. Ann's Parish Council has

approved a request from Pregnancy Support Services of

Berkshire County, Inc. to initiate an ongoing contribution

of diapers much like the food pantry model.

In 2014 Pregnancy Support Services, a totally volunteer

crisis pregnancy counseling agency, filled 393 emergency

requests for diapers. PSS is asking parishes in Central and

South County to assist with this heavy demand.

Much like the food donations, when shopping for

diapers, take a few to Mass and drop them in the cradle that

is located at the front entrance of the Church. Any brand in

any amount and all sizes, especially 3-6.

St. Joseph Church to Lead Pilgrimage

To Rome and Assisi

As we celebrate the coming Year Of Mercy, Msgr.

Mike, of St. Joseph’s in Pittsfield, will lead a pilgrim-

age to Rome and Assisi. The trip is planned from May

11-19, 2016. For more information, call St Joseph’s

Rectory at 445 5789.
