Frank West, a freelance photographer, is looking for the"scoop of a lifetime" and thinks he’s found it when he heads to the Willamette Parkview Mall in Willamette, Colorado tocover what he believes to be a riot. The truth, however, is farmore horrifying when the riot turns out to be a full-scale zombie infestation!

With his journalistic instincts overriding his fears, Frankenters the mall and is soon fighting for his very life alongsideother humans trapped inside the sprawling complex. As thezombie threat grows, so too does Frank’s knowledge of what isbehind the disaster—it is a deliberate outbreak caused byCarlito Keyes as revenge for the infestation and ultimatedestruction of his South American town of Santa Cabeza byU.S. Special Forces following failed scientific experiments by the U.S. government in the area.

It is Carlito’s sister, Isabela Keyes, who warns Frank of thedanger posed by her brother, and soon only Frank and Isabelaare left to battle against Brock Mason, leader of the SpecialForces unit that wiped out Santa Cabeza, and who has now beendispatched to Willamette for the same purpose against the malland its occupants. In a spectacular hand-to-hand battle onboard Mason’s battle tank, Frank is able to defeat Mason,sending the soldier to his death at the clawing hands andripping teeth of a ravaging horde of zombies. But now, that sameterrifying horde surrounds Frank and Isabela, moving in forthe kill, and all would seem lost for the last human survivorsof the Willamette outbreak…
