Dayton’s first annual Startup Week. It was great to gain so much

insight into this world of entrepreneurship from entrepreneurs.

Following are a few of my takeaways from the sessions I was able to

attend.

Looking forward to

Startup Week 2017!

Dayton’s Local Coffee Roaster connection The Wright

Cup had a great coffee bar set up all week at

Basecamp!

Pour Over Anyone?

Dollars & Sense

This panel of Entrepreneurs

discuss the best way to spend

startup funds $$. Lots of Energy

on Day 1!!!

The people around you are important

invest in those who see and understand

your vision.

You will probably have to pay for good

help and good advice. It will be money well

spent.

You may be offered a lot….but very little is

actually free!

Spend your money wisely $$

Breaking News!!!

Nucleus CoShare in Dayton has

partnered with The Entrepreneur

Center (TEC) in Dayton to support

and expand the entrepreneurial

ecosystem brewing in the Dayton

region.

Nucleus has a vision to be a service-focused, welcoming “Front Door” to all things entrepreneurial in the Dayton region.

The new partnership will focus on four main service areas:

1. Provide CoShare workspaces, dedicated desks, & private office space.

2. Provide business development opportunities through incubation, mentoring, & funding opportunities.

3. Offer business workshops, meetups, & experiential internships.

4. Offer support on marketing, branding, & messaging to support startups.

Yes Please!

Fun morning topic on the business of coffee. Five local Dayton

area roasters on hand to discuss why they started in Dayton and

why they stay in Dayton.

The Power of Collaboration

A very open and powerful discussion

with the Nucleus Team on the rising

entrepreneurial ecosystem in Dayton.

• In order to have the best organic growth to the ecosystem there must be complete inclusivity.

• This is no longer a Go Big or Go Home game. You can no longer just hold out for that “Big Win”.

• Who decides what is a big win and what is small win?

• We need to redefine what a “win” is and how we celebrate them.

• All wins count!!

Seed To C Financing

Do you really want to do this?

If the answer is yes, prepare yourself for a long financial journey.

Oh, And There Is No List!

There is not a list of people, organizations, funds, etc. to give you money.

Okay someone may have a list somewhere, but it will be up to you to find financial backing for your business And your funding will most likely not look the same as someone else’s.

There is assistance out there to help guide you. Look for it.

Early Risers Great opportunity to listen to three local entrepreneurs, early stage and startup pitch their businesses and discuss

what they would like to have or need in order to continue their growth.

• Advantic – Composite Solutions for Structural Design.

• Infinipure – Giving a 2nd life to AFRL technology to develop water treatment solutions for residential and commercial use.

• Fronana – Ice Cream made from frozen bananas! What if ice cream could be good for you? Indeed!

The new Nucleus partnership will also expand in space as a second

Nucleus location is in the works to open in the City of Fairborn in a

partnership with the

Fairborn Development Corporation.

We will keep you posted!!
