Day Three: Own Jackson/ Poster Making

I. Analyze Learners: In my class, there are twenty students in my eleventh grade class

(eleven of whom are girls, and the other nine are boys). In addition, there are two students

with a learning disability. With all of the disabilities in my classroom, I will incorporate a lot of

hands on projects to go with the lectures in the class room. Allowing my students to learn by

images from Pinterest and Videos.

II. State Objectives: My eleventh grade students will be able to create their own personal

Jackson Pollock piece, with whatever colors they would like to use and what colors are

available. Students will also be able to use the smart board to work on a poster making

project as a whole class focusing around Jackson Pollock by the end of class with 95%

accuracy.

III. Selecting Methods, Materials, and Media: In order to accommodate for the various

learning disabilities, I will utilize the following methods, media, and materials throughout this

lesson:

i) Materials for the project: For the group project I will need to gather

materials for it, using one gallon of each of the primary colors to mix to

make different colors, along with a canvas for each student.

ii) Smart Board Poster Maker: Students will go up to the smart board

one at a time creating a Poster on the board using powerpoint. Adding

one thing they would like to see included on to the poster.

IV. Utilizing Methods and Materials: Prior to each class, I will check that all the art

supplies is laid out and ready to go (such as: paint brushes, paint, canvases, images,

etc), along with the smart board set up for the poster making project and loaded and

ready to show. I will also set up the students chairs and tables to where they can work

in groups for the art projects.

V. Require Learner Participation: In order to introduce this lesson, I will inform the

students on the proper ways to use the smart board and how it works. After doing this

my class will start working on their own Jackson Pollock Piece to turn in.

VI. Evaluate and Revise: In order to assess student comprehension, I will:

• Stimulate class discussion

• have a question to be answered of what they learned from class.

• Circulate around the room to check that all students are being involved in

hands on activities.
