Day Three: Group Project/ Facebook Assignment (homework)
I. Analyze Learners: In my class, there are twenty students in my eleventh grade class
(eleven of whom are girls, and the other nine are boys). In addition, there are two students
with a learning disability. With all of the disabilities in my classroom, I will incorporate a lot of
hands on projects to go with the lectures in the class room. Allowing my students to learn by
images from Pinterest and Videos.
II. State Objectives: My eleventh grade students will be able to create as a group a giant
Jackson Pollock piece of art on a bed sheet using there favorite colors, along with being
able to successfully gather information from the Facebook page for the homework by the
end of class with 95% accuracy.
III. Selecting Methods, Materials, and Media: In order to accommodate for the various
learning disabilities, I will utilize the following methods, media, and materials throughout this
lesson:
i) Materials for the group project: For the group project I will need to
gather materials for it, using one gallon of each of the primary colors
to mix to make different colors, along with a big bed sheet as the
canvas.
ii) Facebook Jackson Pollock: Students will go to the Jackson Pollock
Facebook page and read over his biography to type there one page
paper on him.
IV. Utilizing Methods and Materials: Prior to each class, I will check that all the art
supplies is laid out and ready to go (such as: paint brushes, paint, canvases, images,
etc), along with the smart board set up to Facebook and loaded and ready to show. I will
also set up the students chairs and tables to where they can work in groups for
the art projects.
V. Require Learner Participation: In order to introduce this lesson, I will inform the
students of Jackson Pollock Facebook page provided in class. After doing this as a class
we will recreate our own Jackson Pollock master piece.
VI. Evaluate and Revise: In order to assess student comprehension, I will:
• Stimulate class discussion
• have a question to be answered of what they learned from class.
• Circulate around the room to check that all students are being involved in
hands on activities.
