1Position the sprinkler reducer in the reducer bracket and turn the fi xing screws back as far as possible.

2Place the support bar next to thesprinkler reducer and push it intothe reducer bracket.

3Push the bar fi xing clamps over both sides of the support bar for mounting onto the ceiling panel.Adjust the position of the clamps to the width of the ceiling panels and tighten the fi xing screws with a screwdriver or a socket wrench 10.

5Remove the PVC protection from

both sides of the fl exible hose so

that the connection nipple and the

sprinkler reducer can be attached.

Once this protection is removed

you can see the rubber gasket

which shall provide the necessary

seal on the fl exible hose.

4Fasten the pre-assembled support bar on the ceiling panel using the bar fi xing clamps. Adjust the position of the support bar until the sprinkler reducer is correctly positioned. Tighten the fi xing screws on the clamps fi rmly using a screwdriver or a socket wrench 10.

6On one side, the connection nipple has a 1” BSPT thread to be connected to a sprinkler tee or to a threaded screw fi tting. The other side of the connection nipple is for attaching the fl exible hose.

7Provide the necessary seal on the 1” BSPT thread of the connection nipple (using fl ax or fl ax grease).

9Check the fl ow direction that is marked on the fl exible hose.The sprinkler reducer must be assembled in the direction of the arrow, and the connection nipple on the other side of the fl exible hose.

11Bend the fl exible hose (minimum bending radius see technical datasheet) and connect the other end of the fl exible hose to the sprinkler reducer.

8Screw the connection nipple into the sprinkler tee or threaded screw fi tting with a pipe wrench until it is fi rmly tightened.

10Screw the nut of the fl exible hose onto the connection nipple and tighten it fi nger-tight.

13The connection nuts on both sides of the fl exible hose can now be tightened fi rmly using an adjustable wrench.

14Give the sprinkler the necessary seal using, for example, Tefl on, liquid Tefl on or another suitable sealing material.Tighten the sprinkler with the appropriate sprinkler wrench (depending on the sprinkler supplier) into the sprinkler reducer.

12Adjust the height of the sprinkler reducer in the reducer bracket according to the selected sprinkler model and turn the fi xing screws on the reducer bracket tight with a screwdriver or a socket wrench.

VIROTEC®-Flexarm® turned to the point

The Flexarm® FL 1 is a length adjustable arm over pipe for use in fi xed,

stationary water systems for extinguishing fi res. The Flexarm® was

specially designed for use in the area of suspended ceilings, where

conventional working methods require a large number of adjustments.

It enables fast, easy and precise horizontal adjustment to each point within

the area of a ceiling panel with a grid dimension of 625 mm. The type FL 1

is intended for mounting abouve the branch line pipe.

Mounting instruction

1. Seal the 1” connecting thread at the connector (Item 3).

Important: When using liquid sealants, note the sealant instructions

for use.

2. Screw in connector (Item 3) and tight on fi rm with pipe wrench.

3. Place the Flexarm® in the required position and secure it by ligth

tightening (approx 5 Nm) the setscrews (Item 5).

4. Subsequent adjustment is possible at any time, even when pressurised:

– Undo setscrews (Item 5)

– Adjust to required position

– Tighten setscrews (Item 5)

Important: The locking pins (Item 4) on the inside must not be

loosened or twisted out as otherwise any warranty claims are

cancelled.

Function

The Flexarm® consists of the following components:

– Item 1 Connecting arm (casting, zinced)

– Item 2 End arm (casting, zinced)

– Item 3 Connector (casting, zinced)

– Item 5 Setscrews (position fi xing)

– Item 6 O-ring (silicon)

The unit is adjusted by swivelling the connecting and end arm in the

horizontal plane. The hinges are sealed with an O-ring (Item 6). The

locking pins (Item 4) prevent the components from falling part. These

locking pins cannot be dismantled (sealed in the factory). The set

position is fi xed by tightening the two external setscrews (Item 5). Before

installation or positioning, these setscrews are only undone by approx

1/2 turn (delivered condition) and are then re-tightened. The positioning

can also take place under pressure.

Important: The locking pins on the inside must not be loosened or

twisted out (warranty expires).

VIROTEC®-Flexarm® turned to the point

The Flexarm® FL 2 is a length adjustable arm over pipe using a combination

of cast shaped pipe parts, for use in fi xed, stationary water systems for

extinguishing fi res. The Flexarm® was specially designed for use in the

area of suspended ceilings, where conventional working methods require

a large number of adjustments. It enables fast, easy and precise horizontal

adjustment to each point within the area of a ceiling panel with a grid

dimension of 625 mm. The type FL 2 is intended for mounting below the

branch line pipe.

VIROTEC®-telescope pipe length tailor-made

The telescope pipe VS is an adjustable drop nipple for use in fi xed,

stationary water systems for extinguishing fi res. It enables precise

adjustment of the sprinkler heads to the location of a suspended ceiling

in a vertical direction. The initial length can be adjusted to the installed

situation by shortening the outer pipe. The longitudinal adjustment can

take place after the pipe network has been completely installed. The

installation time is considerably reduced.

Mounting instruction

1. Determine the installed length and if necessary shorten the

tele pipe at the outer pipe (only VS 0.3 and VS 0.4 models).

Important: Note the marking for the smallest length (160 mm).

2. If necessary cut outer thread R1”.

3. Seal the thread and fi t the component.

4. Adjust length, adjustment made by screwing (also possible under

pressure).

Important: The adjusting pipe may only be screwed in up to

the start of the outer pipe!

FunctionThe VIROTEC®-telescope pipe VS is made up of the following components:

– Item 1 Outer pipe (CED-coated, black)

– Item 2 Adjusting pipe (CED-coated, black)

– Item 3 O-ring (silicon)

The outer pipe of the telescope pipe VS, VS 0.3 and VS 0.4 models,

can be shortened to the required installed length (up to at least 160 mm)

before installation. All models are ready to install with outer thread R 1”.

The length is adjusted by screwing the adjusting pipe and outer pipe

together. This is also possible under pressure. The seal seals off the gap

between the two pipes.

FunctionThe telescope pipe VSI is made up of the following

components:

– Item 1 Outer pipe (CED-coated, black)

The VSI 0.1 and VSI 0.2 models are ready to install with a 1” inner thread.

They have a double nipple for the extension. The length of the double

nipple depends on the respective installed situation in the suspended

ceiling and is freely selectable. It cannot be shortened by sawing.

The precise lengthwise adjustment is achieved by screwing the adjusting

pipe and outer pipe to gether. This is also possible under pressure.

The seal seals off the gap between the two pipes.

U-Flex and V-Flex assemblies provide highly fl exible and reliable

connection features for fìre protection lines, seismic security areas,

dilatation points and industriai applications. These assemblies are

used to absorb the movements caused by the potential break downs

and depressions especially where the seismic movements may cause

U-Flex and V-Flex assemblies that are manufactured with FM certifi cate

prevent the structural deformations such as cracks and break downs of
