1 Introduction With the PETRODAT 3002 system it is possible to monitor, record and con-trol all the procedures and operations involved in the loading and unloading of mineral oil vehicles. The PETRODAT 3002 system consists of various components which com-municate via serial fieldbus (P-NET). The controller is the central operating and information unit of this system. This manual describes only the operating procedures for orders in de-livery mode based on a supposed exemplary configuration as shown next page . The parameters which depend on the different hardware modules or which depend on your specific application are printed grey. They have no influence on the programme run. The manual is based on software version FFB 1.28. May be that there are marginal differences to your system if you run another software version.

2 Safety instructions The operator of the facility is responsible for observing all the regulations in force for the storage, transportation and loading/unloading of combustible li-quids. Regulations and provisions lose none of their validity when the facility is op-erated with PETRODAT units. PETRODAT units are built with due consideration to the regulations currently in force and left the factory in perfect condition. Their installation and main-tenance are to be entrusted to properly trained specialists only.

• Make sure that the data and operating conditions specified by BARTEC are observed.

• Follow the instructions for operating and servicing the units.

• If you discover any signs of damage or breakage on any parts of the sys-tem or if the system’s safe operation cannot be guaranteed for any other reason, do not start the system or, if already in operation, shut down the system immediately. Notify your maintenance department.

• Get in touch with our service specialists if you discover any faults or de-fects during operation or if you have cause to doubt that the units are wor-king properly.

• PETRODAT units are not a replacement for a tanker vehicle’s safety e-quipment or for a user’s own safety measures (e.g. overfill cut-out).

BARTEC GmbH and its vicarious agents only assume liability in the case of deliberate acts or gross negligence. The extent of liability in such a case is limited to the value of the order placed with BARTEC GmbH. BARTEC accepts no liability for any damage resulting from non-observance of the safety regulations or from non-compliance with the operating instruc-tions or operating conditions. Secondary damage is excluded from the liabil-ity.

3 Operating the printer type 6881-1/-3x

3.1 Safety precautions • Do not try to repair the printer yourself. Improper repairs may be danger-

ous.

• Do not dismantle or modify the printer. Improper works may cause hurts or fire.

• Avoid the printer from getting in of contaminants. This may cause fire.

• Do not use the printer if water or other liquids got in the printer.

• Don’t put heavy objects onto the printer. This could cause damaging.

3.2 Operating panel



3.3 Removing the transportation lock To avoid the printer from damaging during transport it is saved by a trans-portation lock which must be removed before the printer is switched on.

• Pull the transportation lock out and remove the adhesive tape from the top of the printer (Fig. 1).

Keep the transportation lock for shipment or storage of the printer.

3.4 Shipment or storage Prepare the printer for a shipment or a storage as follows:

• Switch the printer on.

• Press the RELEASE key.

• Press the FORWARD key.

• Switch the printer off.

• Attach the transportation locks.

3.5 Inserting ribbon cartridge Use ribbon cartridge with the order no U496314. When using a ribbon car-tridge that is not approved by BARTEC, the printer can get damaged and the warranty expires.

1. Switch the printer with the system switch on. The POWER light must be shining.

2. Press the RELEASE key; the RELEASE light shines. The printer is set to the paper release mode.

3. Switch the printer with the system switch out. Carry out the steps 1 to 3 to be sure that the printer is in the paper release mode before inserting or removing a ribbon cartridge.



4. Open the cover by slight pressing the edge left on top and then pulling the cover to you (Fig. 2).

5. Remove the used ribbon. Pull it out straight by using the grip (Fig. 3).

6. Be sure that the new ribbon is not crumpled or twisted before inserting

it. Turn the clamping pint clockwise as the arrow shows to stretch the ribbon.

7. Insert the ribbon cartridge carefully (Fig. 4).

8. Press the right and then the left side of the cartridge to snap both sides.

9. For refasten the cover, adjust the left side first. Insert the nib at the top and press the bottom side till it will snap.



3.6 Inserting paper Do not use crumpled paper. Use only paper as specified in the data sheet.

1. Be sure that a ribbon cartridge is in the printer.

2. Switch the printer on . The POWER light must be shining.

3. Press the RELEASE key. The RELEASE light shines to indicate that you can inserted or take out paper.

4. Insert the paper from the front side or the left side (Fig. 5), till it touches the block. A mark at the side indicates that position.

5. Observe the PAPER OUT light while inserting paper. It will go out when

the paper is proper inserted. If the PAPER OUT light will shine on, re-move the paper and insert it again.

3.7 Troubleshooting No light is shining at the operating panel • Check the connection of the cable to the printer and to the system. • Be sure that the system is switched on. The PAPER OUT light is shining and the printer doesn’t print • Paper is not or not proper inserted. The RELEASE light is flashing and the printer doesn’t print • An error occurred. Switch the printer out, be sure that there is no jam and

switch the printer on. If the RELEASE light is still flashing, contact the service staff.

4 Delivery mode Order and extent of operating during delivery mode depend on the equip-ment and on configuration of the software. This chapter describes the oper-ating process in principle and the use of the individual functions. The order and the figures may slightly differ from your system, caused by another con-figuration or another software status. If there is another printer instead of the configured one, when switching on the system (may be when the truck in that the printer is installed was re-placed), you are asked to confirm the use of the new printer.

4.1 Switching on the system When the system is switched on (with the truck ignition switch, the control gear or a separate switch), the controller first runs a setup program. Any prompts have to be acknowledged.

4.2 Beginning a tour When starting the operation with the PETRODAT-equipment a tour is to start. Inside a tour you can handle the different orders. To begin a tour, press the tour begin softkey in the main menu. You will see the radio data symbol if there is relevant data available by radio connection. The data belonging to the next order will be shown in the display.

4.3 Carry out an order with radio data All reqired data is displayed when an order is issued by radio (see example below).

Modes of payment: The following modes of payment are possible: CASH payment cash CREDIT: invoice via office

If the payment is made by invoice the calculation and pay-ment will be made by the office based on the current tax rates. The aircraft captain gets a delivery note containing quantity and price.

Types of operation: The table below shows the different types of operation and which vehicle can carry out it:

Not available as an unplanned order. For operating with a preset quantity see section 4.3.1. Connect the fuel hose to the tank opening of the airplane. Press the start order softkey.

Press the start dlvr.1 softkey. If automatic pump enabling is not configured, you must then enable the pump by pressing the START/STOP key at the controller.

Enabling of the pump is indicated by inversion of the pump symbol (bottom left of the display). Refuelling can be started.

When filling is started the current vol-ume and flowrate will be displayed. The pump symbol will rotate. You can switch over from enlarged display of the delivered quantity to normal size. On controllers with a nu-merical keyboard use the key 1 , on controllers with an alphanumerical keyboard use the F3 key. Stop the delivery when the ordered quantity is delivered. Press the START/STOP key to disable the pump. If you want to continue the delivery you can press the START/STOP key to enable the pump again (depending on configuration).

When having finished the delivery press the dlvr.1 end key. The ticket will be printed. After that the controller is ready for the next order

After the ticket has been printed, you can print as many duplicates as you wish provided no new order is started. To print a duplicate ticket, press the special funct. softkey and select "print copy". The duplicate is labeled with the letters “RP” and the number of the duplicate.

4.3.1 Preset a quantity To preset a quantity to deliver press the preset quant. on softkey before start-ing the delivery. After pressing this softkey the preset quantity function is switched on and the softkey disappears

After pressing the start dlvr.1 softkey the preset quantity transferred by radio is displayed. If you confirm the preset quantity the pump will automatically stop when reaching this volume. When doing a REFUELLING or DEFUELLING procedure you can overwrite this quantity with any other value. When doing a REDELIVERY procedure a preset quantity is always dis-played. It corresponds to the quantity measured during the defuelling proce-dure before. You can overwrite that quantity too, but only with a lower one.

Confirm the preset quantity by pressing OK , the delivery menu will be dis-played. You can start the delivery.

The running procedure stops automatically upon reaching the preset quan-tity. It is also possible to abort the procedure before then, however, by press-ing the START/STOP key. If you want to continue the delivery you can press the START/STOP key to enable the pump again

Without using the „preset quantity“ function the transferred quantity will not be regarded for stopping the delivery!

4.3.2 Defuelling Defuelling is available if the counter is configured for this type of operation. Configuration: param. config /meter op. type 1: refuelling procedures 2: defuelling procedures 0: both types of operation How to procedure a defuelling (intake) does not differ from a fuelling proc-ess. As operation type is displayed „DEFUEL“.

A defuelling can also be done with a preset quantity (see section 4.3.1).

4.4 Carry out an order without radio data If the radio connection is fault or there is no valid radio data for other rea-sons, you can start an unplanned order manual.

4.4.1 Refuel REFUEL is always the default operation type. If you want to start a REFUEL procedure enter the ident number for this or-der and confirm it with OK .

The further proceeding complies with the instructions in section 4.3.

4.4.2 Selecting an operation type If you won’t carry out a REFUEL procedure but another operation type you can select it. Confirm Ident-No. 0. The menu for selecting operation types is displayed. It has two pages. At the first page you find the available „no sales operations“ and at the second page the „sales operations“.

Operation types for Refuel vehicles (Configuration: param. config.\ sequence param.\ dispenser OFF)

Sales operations: • REFUEL (Refuelling a plane) • DEFUEL (Defuelling a plane) After choosing and confirming an operation type you must enter the Ident-No. for the order when doing a „sales operation“. The further sequence is the same as described in section 4.3. No sales operations: • DEFUEL TRANSFER (unloading a refueller into the defuelling stock) • REFUEL TRANSFER (unloading a refueller into the fuel farm) • CIRC/TESTING (delivering a millipore test) • REFUELLER CIRC (pumping within the vehicle) • INTER REFUELLER (pumping from a refueller into another refueller)

Operation types for dispenser vehicles (Configuration: param. config.\ sequence param.\ dispenser ON)

Sales operations: • REFUEL (Refuelling a plane) After choosing and confirming an operation type you must enter the Ident-No. for the order when doin a „sales operation“. The further sequence is the same as described in section 4.3. No sales operations: • APRON TOP UP (delivery from a dispenser to a refueller) • CIRC/TESTING (delivering a millipore test) See also table at page 4-2.

4.5 Tank bearing If an electronic dip stick is configured, during an active tour you can display the filling level by pressing the key 3 . The bearing will be displayed as long as you press the key.

If a minimum and a maximum level for the tank is configured, a message is displayed when reaching one of this levels. A running delivery will be stopped when reach-ing the lower limit. Loading will be stopped when reaching the up-per limit. Configuration: peripherals/dip stick 6728 /Tank parameter/T1 (2) Minimum

and T1 (2) Maximum.

4.6 Ending a tour The tour is ended by pressing the tour-end softkey. The main menu will be displayed afterwards.

5 Special functions The special funct. softkey is active depending on the controller’s operating status. Which functions can be choosen after pressing this softkey depends on the momentary operating status and on the installed configuration.

The following function are available with the configuration as shown at page 1-2:

Outside of a tour the functions are to use under the softkey menu .

5.1 Print journal

In the “print journal” menu you can first choose which tours you want to print. If you choose “manual select.”, the display will show you the data of the pre-vious tour. The back and contin. softkeys are active if several tours have been saved. Use these two softkeys to scroll backwards and forwards a-mong the saved tours to select the tour you want. Press the print softkey to print out the data of the selected tour. Press the ready softkey to exit the menu.



The "total journal" option allows you to print out a journal of all the saved tours of the current day.

With the "not pr. tours" option the system prints the data of only those tours that have not yet been printed out.

After selecting the „old data“ function you can choose a day.



After choosing a day you can select a tour. The back and contin. softkeys are active if several tours have been saved at the selected day. Use these two softkeys to scroll backwards and forwards among the saved tours to se-lect the tour you want.

Press the print softkey to print the data of the selected tour.

5.2 Print copy After the delivery ticket has been printed, you can print as many duplicates as you wish provided no new order is started. The only difference between the duplicate and the original is a line with the letters “RP” and the number of the duplicate.



5.3 Total counter The uncompensated and compensated total counts of all the configured counters will be displayed.

5.4 Show page 2 Displays the 2nd page of the menu. At this page is shown:

- counter number, - compensated quantity, - uncompensated quantity, - totalizer.

After 5 seconds the display will automatically switch back to page 1.

5.5 Internal storage Select the "intern. storage" menu point to display the contents of the config-ured RAM drive.

5.6 Configuration The configuration menus are used for adapting the software to the specific working conditions and to the system’s hardware components. Configuration is described in a seperate service manual („PETRODAT 3002, Data Capture System for Aircraft Refuelling, Configuration Software version FFB 1.28“).

Without entering a password you can access the following menus: contrast within the configured limits (contr.-config./contrast) time (contr.- config./syst. time /clock) P-Net-Scan (contr.-config. /P-Net-Scan) Print P-Net-Scan (contr.-config. /print pnet-scan)

After entering the driver password you can additional change the following parameters: - language (contr.-config. / Language select) - driver number (param. config / sequence param.).

6 System monitoring The PETRODAT 3002 system is monitored permanently to ensure reliable operation. All events that occur while the system is in operation are reported on the display, either in plain text or in pictogram form.

6.1 Pictograms The following pictograms are used to indicate the various operating states that can occur during work with the PETRODAT 3002 system

6.2 Messages Messages are displayed in plain text. They serve to inform you about: • Operating states or changes to the operating regime, • Errors and faults during operation, • Hints for operating of several functions. Messages usually have to be confirmed. Only then will the program con-tinue. The message appears as often as the cause is not eliminated.
