Topic / Theme: Lines and Planes in 3- Dimensions.

Learning Objectives:

Students will be taught to :Understand and use the concept of angle between lines and planes to solve problems.

Learning Outcomes:

Students should be able to :i. Identify planes.ii. Identify horizontal planes, vertical planes and inclined planes.iii. Sketch a three dimensional shape and identify the specific planes.iv. Identify:

a) lines that lie on a plane,b) lines that intersect with a plane.

v. Identify normal to a given plane.vi. Determine the orthogonal projection of a line on a plane.vii. Draw and name the orthogonal projection of a line on a plane.viii. Determine the angle between a line and a plane.ix. Solve problems involving the angle between a line and a plane.

TEACHING AIDS

A. Opening Activities - Marker- Eraser

Page 2: DAILY LESSON PLAN 4- Lines and Planes in 3-Dimensions

1. Teacher enters to class on time.

2. Teacher greets and prepares the lesson.

3. Teacher prepares physically condition

of students in order to ready for joining

learning process.

a. Teacher checks the attendance list.

b. Teacher asks students to prepare

the tools which are used for

learning.

4. Teacher delivers the title of main

material which want to be explained

and writes on the white board.

5. Teacher delivers the learning

objectives.

6. Teacher motivates students.

B. Core Activities

1. Teacher gives the examples of 2-D and

3-D items.

- Book and Pen

Page 3: DAILY LESSON PLAN 4- Lines and Planes in 3-Dimensions

2. Teacher with students differentiate

between 2-dimensional and 3-

dimensional shapes. Involve planes

found in natural surroundings.

3. Teacher gives a form of 3-D item then

students are asked to identify parallel

and perpendicular planes.

Plane is the flat surface of an object

Examples :a. Plane ABCD is parallel to plane EFGHb. Plane ABCD is perpendicular to plane BCGF

Remember about the conditions of parallel and perpendicular

5. Teacher delivers about normal to plane

6. Teacher delivers about orthogonal

projection.

A normal to plane is a line that is perpendicular to all lines that lie on that plane.

The orthogonal projection of the line is the perpendicular projection of a line to a plane

7. Teacher delivers about angle between a

line and a plane.

8. Teacher gives some exercises in book

to students. When there is no students

who wants to do it in front of class.

Teacher has prepared lottery for

choosing student.

C. Closing Activity

1. Students and teacher make the

conclusion together. Then, choose

some students for presenting it.

2. Students are given motivation to learn

again the material and always share

when there is any difficulties.

The angle between aline and a plane is the angle between the line and its orthogonal projection on the plane.

3. Do the reflection about the activity

which has done.

4. Teacher presents about the next

meeting.

5. Teacher closes the lesson punctually.
