DAILY EXCELSIOR, JAMMU SUNDAY, JANUARY 17, 2016 (PAGE 7) Excelsior Correspondent SRINAGAR, Jan 16: Ellaquai Dehati Bank Officers' Association (EDBOA), Srinagar, has expressed seri- ous concern over the instruc- tions issued by the State Government that the migrants of the State shall open their accounts in J&K Bank only for the disbursement of the relief fund. The issue was raised dur- ing a meeting of the associa- tion with customers, held here today. President of the associ- ation, MK Raina, said that ear- lier such instruction was issued for the Government employees of the State with regard to disbursement of salaries. He wondered how such incubus orders are issued when all banks are governed by the Reserve Bank of India by laws and eventually belongs to the public sector undertakings and not the State Government undertak- ings. Raina said that the State Government always demoral- izes the morale of the rest of the financial institutions by issuing such discriminatory orders and thus posing prob- lems to the public. The meeting decided to take up the matter with the higher authorities and with other financial institutions in the State and hoped that the State Government will revert back the status. JKAACL organizes multi-lingual poetic meet Excelsior Correspondent KATHUA, Jan 16: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in association with Triveni Kala Kunj, Kathua, organized multi-lingual Mushaira in Rajiv Gandhi College of Education, Kathua. R K Sharma, Programme Executive, All India Radio, Kathua, and a senior poet, presided whereas Pankaj Dogra, Chairman of the College, was chief guest on the occasion. Besides, Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri, JKAA- CL, Dr Usha Monga, presi- dent and Vijay Sharma, gener- al secretary of Triveni Kala Kunj, were also present in the presidium. The poets who recited their poetry, included Dr Usha Monga, Vijay Sharma, Sanjay Sehgal, Sham Lal Khajuria, Shashi Pal Khajuria, Rajesh Kumar, Daleep Singh Savan, Hazoora Singh, Ramesh Singh Galoch, Balak Ram Mehra, Ajay Sharma, Kuldeep Kippi, Daya Ram Daya, Raj Kumar and Dr Sunita Bhadwal while Sonali, Manju and Savita of the college also participated in the Mushaira. On this occasion, a book titled “Lala Jagat Narayan” a translated version in Dogri was also released. The book, in question, was originally in Hindi consisting of life aspects of Lala Jagat Narayan and has been translated into Dogri jointly by Yash Pal Nirmal, a Sahitya Akademi Awardee and Dr Sunita Bhadwal, a renowned poetess of Dogri. Delivering presidential address, R K Sharma appreci- ated the J&K Cultural Academy, which has geared up its activities not only in the cities but also the remote and border areas. He also complimented Triveni Kala Kunj for taking sincere efforts in organizing such literary programmes. Earlier, Pankaj Dogra said that such type of activities not only encourage the students but also help in pruning their all round development. Residents project demands Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Jan 16: The residents of Panchayat Halqa Jar, Paddar, district Kishtwar was held under the chairmanship of Sarpanch Mool Raj Rathore, in which panchayat members and sarpanchs took part. During the meeting, various problems being faced by the resi- dents of Paddar were discussed, which included power failure, drinking water scarcity, opening of Degree College, opening of dispensaries, execution of the identified roads under PMGSY, etc. The participants appealed to the concerned authorities to redress the issues on priority basis. Among others present were Nand Lal, Sarpanch Lingri, Sonam Dorjay, ex-board member ST, Reshi Parihar, senior leader NC, Mohan Lal, Bodh Raj Chesoti, Mainder Singh Rana, etc. Mentor workshop organized by SSA concludes Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Jan 16: A six day workshop for District Coordinators and Resource Teachers for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) con- cluded today. The workshop was conduct- ed under Inclusive Education (IE) component of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) with a view to enriching the District Coordinators and Resource Teachers with the latest system- atic tools and techniques of training children with various disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Autism Spectrum Disorder in the age group of 6-14 years. The valedictory function was chaired by Saugat Biswas, State Project Director, SSA / RMSA. There are 24343 children with special needs enrolled in various schools of the State.The disabilities include low vision, blindness, hearing impairment, speech impairment, orthopedic impairment, mental retardation, multiple disabilities, cerebral palsy, learning disability and autisms spectrum disorder. The School Education Department through 74 resource rooms, which have been estab- lished by SSA across the State are manned by Resource Teachers and District Coordinators. These resource rooms are equipped with various aids and appliances for the sup- port of the CWSN. Eighteen District Coordinators and 17 Resource Teachers participated in the six day workshop. Apart from State Level Resource Persons,Urfana Amin, Rafiq Reshi and Taha Tufail, special experts Dr.Suman Agarwal, Ms.Pooja Thapliyal and Ms.Preeti Siwach were invited from outside the State. Dr.SumanAggarwal and Pooja Thapliyal, experts from "Sarthak",New Delhi trained the participants regarding the diffi- culties and acceptance of cere- bral palsy and mentally retarded children apart from curriculum adaptation and behaviour modi- fication. The experts shared the techniques to teach CP and MR children with the participants. Preeti Siwach from "Action for Autism", New Delhi, sensi- tized the Resource Teachers and District Coordinators regarding Autism Spectrum Disorder among the children, difficulties faced by them, their acceptance in society and classroom situa- tions apart from behaviour modification and teaching strategies. On the concluding day, Saugat Biswas, State Project Director, SSA/RMSA took detailed review and feedback about the problems faced in implementation of the compo- nent in the field from the District Coordinators and the Resource Teachers. The SPD assured that the various problems that have come to light, shall be addressed in the near future. Woman protesters injured during anti-PDD protest Excelsior Correspondent SRINAGAR, Jan 16: Several woman protesters were injured after police used force against anti-Power Develo- pment Department protesters at Brein locality of Nishat area on the outskirts of summer capital. Scores of residents, mostly woman, took to streets at Brein and staged protest against PDD over installing insulated power lines in the area to prevent power-pilferage. As the protest grew strong, the police rushed to the spot and urged protesters to disperse but the latter refused after which cops resorted to baton charge and teargas shelling, triggering clashes between two sides. Reports said the police action left several women injured while one of them was shifted to hospital for treatment. The situation in the area was tense when reports last came in while a large contingent of police was deployed in the area to maintain order. CRPF organises educational tour under Civic Action Programme Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Jan 16: The 06 Bn CRPF, deployed for security of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Katra, organised an educational excur- sion "Bharat Dharsan" under Civic Action Programme from 3rd to 14th of January, 2016, for a group of 43 students and 3 teachers belonging to remotest village Kanjli. During the tour, the students visited various sites of national, historical and cultural impor- tance besides meeting senior officials and dignitaries. Besides, the students and teach- ers toured Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan and stayed at CRPF camps at Jalandar, Delhi, Mathura, Agra and Jaipur respectively. The tour provided an oppor- tunity to the students and teach- ers as well to meet and interact with Dr. Jitender Singh, Minister of State, PMO, Kiren Rijuju, Minister of State for Home Affairs and Prakash Mishra, DG CRPF.
