SRINAGAR, Jan 16:Ellaquai Dehati Bank Officers'Association (EDBOA),Srinagar, has expressed seri-ous concern over the instruc-tions issued by the StateGovernment that the migrantsof the State shall open theiraccounts in J&K Bank only forthe disbursement of the relieffund.
The issue was raised dur-ing a meeting of the associa-tion with customers, held heretoday. President of the associ-ation, MK Raina, said that ear-lier such instruction wasissued for the Governmentemployees of the State withregard to disbursement ofsalaries.
He wondered how suchincubus orders are issuedwhen all banks are governedby the Reserve Bank of Indiaby laws and eventuallybelongs to the public sectorundertakings and not theState Government undertak-ings.
Raina said that the StateGovernment always demoral-izes the morale of the rest ofthe financial institutions byissuing such discriminatoryorders and thus posing prob-lems to the public.
The meeting decided totake up the matter with thehigher authorities and withother financial institutions inthe State and hoped that theState Government will revertback the status.

KATHUA, Jan 16: Jammuand Kashmir Academy of Art,Culture and Languages inassociation with Triveni KalaKunj, Kathua, organizedmulti-lingual Mushaira inRajiv Gandhi College ofEducation, Kathua.
R K Sharma, ProgrammeExecutive, All India Radio,Kathua, and a senior poet,presided whereas PankajDogra, Chairman of theCollege, was chief guest onthe occasion. Besides, AshokGupta, Editor Dogri, JKAA-CL, Dr Usha Monga, presi-dent and Vijay Sharma, gener-al secretary of Triveni KalaKunj, were also present in thepresidium.
The poets who recitedtheir poetry, included DrUsha Monga, Vijay Sharma,Sanjay Sehgal, Sham LalKhajuria, Shashi PalKhajuria, Rajesh Kumar,Daleep Singh Savan, HazooraSingh, Ramesh Singh Galoch,Balak Ram Mehra, AjaySharma, Kuldeep Kippi, DayaRam Daya, Raj Kumar andDr Sunita Bhadwal whileSonali, Manju and Savita ofthe college also participatedin the Mushaira.
On this occasion, a booktitled “Lala Jagat Narayan” atranslated version in Dogri
was also released. The book,in question, was originally inHindi consisting of lifeaspects of Lala Jagat Narayanand has been translated intoDogri jointly by Yash PalNirmal, a Sahitya AkademiAwardee and Dr SunitaBhadwal, a renowned poetessof Dogri.
Delivering presidentialaddress, R K Sharma appreci-ated the J&K CulturalAcademy, which has gearedup its activities not only inthe cities but also the remoteand border areas. He alsocomplimented Triveni KalaKunj for taking sincere effortsin organizing such literaryprogrammes.
Earlier, Pankaj Dogra saidthat such type of activities notonly encourage the studentsbut also help in pruning theirall round development. Hefurther requested theAcademy to organize suchtype of programmes in futurealso.
The programme startedwith the welcome addressdelivered by Vijay Sharma,general secretary of TriveniKala Kunj.

JAMMU, Jan 16: The residents of Panchayat Halqa Jar, Paddar,district Kishtwar was held under the chairmanship of SarpanchMool Raj Rathore, in which panchayat members and sarpanchstook part.
During the meeting, various problems being faced by the resi-dents of Paddar were discussed, which included power failure,drinking water scarcity, opening of Degree College, opening ofdispensaries, execution of the identified roads under PMGSY, etc.
The participants appealed to the concerned authorities toredress the issues on priority basis.
Among others present were Nand Lal, Sarpanch Lingri, SonamDorjay, ex-board member ST, Reshi Parihar, senior leader NC,Mohan Lal, Bodh Raj Chesoti, Mainder Singh Rana, etc.
Mentor workshop organizedby SSA concludes

JAMMU, Jan 16: A six dayworkshop for DistrictCoordinators and ResourceTeachers for Children withSpecial Needs (CWSN) con-cluded today.
The workshop was conduct-ed under Inclusive Education(IE) component of SarvaShiksha Abhiyan (SSA) with aview to enriching the DistrictCoordinators and ResourceTeachers with the latest system-atic tools and techniques oftraining children with variousdisabilities such as CerebralPalsy, Mental Retardation andAutism Spectrum Disorder inthe age group of 6-14 years. Thevaledictory function was chairedby Saugat Biswas, State ProjectDirector, SSA / RMSA.
There are 24343 childrenwith special needs enrolled invarious schools of the State.Thedisabilities include low vision,blindness, hearing impairment,speech impairment, orthopedicimpairment, mental retardation,multiple disabilities, cerebralpalsy, learning disability andautisms spectrum disorder.
The School EducationDepartment through 74 resourcerooms, which have been estab-lished by SSA across the Stateare manned by ResourceTeachers and DistrictCoordinators. These resourcerooms are equipped with variousaids and appliances for the sup-port of the CWSN. Eighteen
District Coordinators and 17Resource Teachers participatedin the six day workshop. Apartfrom State Level ResourcePersons,Urfana Amin, RafiqReshi and Taha Tufail, specialexperts Dr.Suman Agarwal,Ms.Pooja Thapliyal andMs.Preeti Siwach were invitedfrom outside the State.
Dr.SumanAggarwal andPooja Thapliyal, experts from"Sarthak",New Delhi trained theparticipants regarding the diffi-culties and acceptance of cere-bral palsy and mentally retardedchildren apart from curriculumadaptation and behaviour modi-fication. The experts shared thetechniques to teach CP and MRchildren with the participants.
Preeti Siwach from "Actionfor Autism", New Delhi, sensi-tized the Resource Teachers andDistrict Coordinators regardingAutism Spectrum Disorderamong the children, difficultiesfaced by them, their acceptancein society and classroom situa-tions apart from behaviourmodification and teachingstrategies.
On the concluding day,Saugat Biswas, State ProjectDirector, SSA/RMSA tookdetailed review and feedbackabout the problems faced inimplementation of the compo-nent in the field from the DistrictCoordinators and the ResourceTeachers. The SPD assured thatthe various problems that havecome to light, shall be addressedin the near future.

In themeeting, 19 project proposals forestablishment of employmentgenerating ventures viz mfg ofbrooms/floor wipers, cement tiles,steel fabrication, boutique, dhaba,brass band etc having the projectcost of Rs 1.31 crores werecleared/ approved for sponsoringto different bank branches inDistrict Samba for sanction.
The meeting was attended byKrishan Lal, GM DistrictIndustries Centre Samba, , EOMunicipality Samba, bankers andother committee members.Besides these, the meeting wasalso attended by Romesh Chanderand Mohd Bashir ,SarpanchPanchayat halqas Badheri andPurmandal as members on behalfof panchayati Raj Institutions.
Woman protesters injuredduring anti-PDD protest

SRINAGAR, Jan 16:Several woman protesters wereinjured after police used forceagainst anti-Power Develo-pment Department protesters atBrein locality of Nishat area onthe outskirts of summer capital.
Scores of residents, mostlywoman, took to streets at Breinand staged protest against PDDover installing insulated powerlines in the area to preventpower-pilferage.
As the protest grew strong,the police rushed to the spot andurged protesters to disperse butthe latter refused after whichcops resorted to baton chargeand teargas shelling, triggeringclashes between two sides.
Reports said the policeaction left several womeninjured while one of them wasshifted to hospital for treatment.The situation in the area wastense when reports last came inwhile a large contingent ofpolice was deployed in the areato maintain order.

JAMMU, Jan 16: The 06 BnCRPF, deployed for security ofShri Mata Vaishno Devi, Katra,organised an educational excur-sion "Bharat Dharsan" underCivic Action Programme from3rd to 14th of January, 2016, fora group of 43 students and 3teachers belonging to remotestvillage Kanjli.
During the tour, the studentsvisited various sites of national,historical and cultural impor-tance besides meeting seniorofficials and dignitaries.Besides, the students and teach-ers toured Punjab, Delhi, UttarPradesh and Rajasthan andstayed at CRPF camps atJalandar, Delhi, Mathura, Agraand Jaipur respectively.
The tour provided an oppor-tunity to the students and teach-ers as well to meet and interactwith Dr. Jitender Singh,Minister of State, PMO, KirenRijuju, Minister of State forHome Affairs and PrakashMishra, DG CRPF.
