Career
Wm Morrisons Supermarkets plc. (2011-Present)
Within this time I have worked in two stores, which shows my commitment to a cause, and to a firm. My role within both of these stores has allowed me to showcase an array of different skills, including: time management, communication, meeting and exceeding targets with time limits, the ability to learn quickly on the job in a fast paced environment and excellent customer service skills. On top of this, I have been able to demonstrate my innate ability to lead a team successfully by leading shifts weekly, and delivering high standards throughout all working areas. Moreover I have trained numerous employees on the job, whilst completing tasks set out for myself to complete, and have completed a variety of additional courses to enhance my standings in the work place. I am often relied upon to work independently, and work multiple jobs owing to staff shortages, and have proved myself as a team player by covering shortages and by working late.
This coupled with my ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently, demonstrates my adaptability to new working environments, a desire for continuous learning and to fulfil my potential by excelling in the work I complete.
I have also received exceptional feedback from customers for my levels of customer service; further I have received high praise from superiors for attitude, levels of work and customer service.
Volunteering (2008- Present)
For 8 years I have been a helper for a children and young person’s youth group during the summer holidays. Having attended this myself, I felt a loyal connection with the group and therefore believed that I should give my time back to a worthy cause, so that others can feel the joy I did at this age. The age range is from 4-13 and therefore communicating to this audience requires a different approach to that I would consider normal day to day communication. Additionally one of my roles is to liaise with parents should matters of concern require attention, showing further communication skills.
I have been previously associated with the rebuild and maintenance of a school garden project (2008-2010), which required risk and time management to complete. Completing this task required overcoming many difficult obstacles. Nevertheless, working as a team we overcame these and provided a fruitful and self-sustained garden project.
During the period of 2009-2012, I helped out with an organisation known as the Sunshine Club, a club for individuals with learning disabilities to enjoy a day of fun where they can meet their friends twice a week. This alleviates day to day pressures of their carers’ and families, which in itself is a rewarding activity to partake in.
Activities and Interests
In my spare time, I play and watch numerous sports, such as cricket, football, darts and badminton. Outside of sport, I have interests in many areas such as food and drink, and prehistoric nature.
