In general, I am interested in the relationship between social contexts and healthy development.

Currently my research examines the impact of armed conflict and militarization on aspects of

social and human development. Specifically, my research estimates the impact of conflict, the

development of armies (using the military participation ratio), and aspects of military spending

(e.g., praetorian militarization) on outcomes such as child mortality and other measures of the

life chances of civilian populations.
