Achievements at the national level:

October 2005 - October 2007

Participate in preparation for the opening of the old building of the Egyptian National Library, Particularly those related to the policy of transfer of manuscripts, papyri and other treasures... and the transport mechanism and secure. Moreover, endured the responsibility of choosing the younger human elements to work at the library and the distribution of work tasks.

Making the national concerning applying for the first time “national program for Cataloguing in Publication” CIP along with necessary forms and instructions - Also organizing a symposium gathered most of the Egyptian publishers benefiting from the program.

Increase the financial resources of the Egyptian National Library by the Ministry of International Cooperation to support new vehicles needed for mobile library services in the amount of 2 million Egyptian pounds.

Designing and implementing integrated projects aiming at digitizing various types of heritage documents (manuscripts, books, periodicals and musical heritage) kept at the national library of Egypt through collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and some other bodies, including the U.S. Library of Congress, and Al-Furqan Heritage Foundation. For example the national project targeting digitizing 5o thousands Arabic heritage books from the national library of Egypt collection, which was allocated 12 million of Egyptian pounds.

October 2007 - Present

A new professional mission targeting opening a new central library for Cairo University (October 2007 to January 29, 2008) which includes for example: coordination between all parties (general consultative: Dr. Ali Rafat + Engineering administration at Cairo University + executive engineering companies including Arab Contractors and Mobica for furniture, etc.) In addition, selection of human resources and information sources and distribution in accordance with the new organizational structure, this was designed from scratch. Also developing new administrative and financial regulations that ensure perfect management of the new library.

Increase the financial resources and building information sources by having several agreements and donations from publishers, cultural centers and other interested parties in Egypt and abroad, that exceeded total financial value of millions of Egyptian pounds. In addition to building cultural channels with various National Cultural attaches in Egypt which revealed on open reading spaces or areas for several languages and cultural windows or sections, like: American, Spanish, Chinese and French….
