PREFACE

Curriculum in Syriac was developed by the Syriac Board of studies of C.M.S

College (Autonomous) Kottayam, for B.A/B.Sc/B.Com. The study of Syriac is intended to

inculcate interest in the students to understand the Syriac literature and to translate them into

modern language. And they should have linguistic competency as well as communicative

competency. Communicative competency enables the student to communicative functionally

and interactively. This curriculam is divided into four parts namely ,history of syriac

language, history of syriac heritage, syriac grammar, and syriac literature.
