Culmination of study on Ethiopia
Objective: Learning about the culture of Ethiopia.
Procedure/Activity: Throughout the course of study the students will read a variety of nonfiction books aboutEthiopia, view slideshows of authentic photographs, engage in hands on activities where the students view and
touch real artifacts from Ethiopia, practice the Amharic language (use attached worksheet) and utilize
websites (example: www.culturegrams.com ) to gain an understanding of the culture of Ethiopia. As a
culmination of their study, the students will use the attached graphic organizer to take notes on what they
have found out.
Materials: variety of nonfiction books, photographs, artifacts, computers, pencils, Ethiopia graphic organizer,Amharic key vocabulary worksheet, and final writing response.
Assessment: The completed graphic organizer and the writing piece that the students complete that comparelife in Ethiopia to their own life.
