Installation Normal Weather Conditions A Concrete Waterproofing Products technician must be on-site the day of the product application, usually the day of the concrete placement to train in application, assuring correct product application, document and return on every application thereafter to verify that proper procedures are followed. The onsite Concrete Waterproofing Products technician provides onsite technical services, quality control and certification.

CS2000™ Spray Apply system may be applied the day of the concrete pour or as soon as severe weather conditions permit, prior to any other chemical treatment. The CS2000™ spray apply system can be used for slabs on grade, below grade or above grade where resilient flooring such as sheet vinyl, vinyl composition tile, rubber, wood flooring, carpet, sports flooring, epoxy coatings and overlays. Apply CS2000™ to the concrete slabs as soon as final finishing operations are complete and the concrete has hardened sufficiently to sustain foot traffic without damage. Severe weather such as rain, snow, cold, excessive heat, wind, or job site conditions such as concrete not exposed to direct sunlight will affect the rate of concrete hydration and delay or change the CS2000™ application until a more acceptable time dictated by Concrete Waterproofing Products. Excessive heat, dry and windy weather will require an immediate follow up of water spray to aid in the penetration of the product and reduce the evaporation of the water-based CS2000™ sealer.

Using clean (uncontaminated) low-pressure hand pumps, spray the CS2000™ at the rate of 200 square feet per gallon. Broom product evenly over the substrate until product has completely penetrated the surface.

If within 2-hours after initial application areas are subjected to heavy rainfall and puddles occur, reapply CS2000™ product to these areas as soon as weather conditions permit. Extra product for reapplication will be provided at no cost by Concrete Waterproofing Products.

Hot Weather Conditions Job site conditions with temperatures over 90 degrees may require the applicator to pre-wet the concrete slabs with clean potable water.

Cold Weather Conditions Job site conditions must be 40 degrees and rising to properly apply the CS2000™. Cooler temperatures and indirect sunlight can delay the installation until more suitable site conditions permit. Our onsite technician will dictate when to apply in variable weather conditions.

Architecturally Finished Slabs Possible discoloration of the slab surface may occur if CS2000™ is used where exposed aggregate and colored slabs is specified. CS2000™ is designed for interior concrete slabs that are to receive floor coverings. Topical sealers that contain enough coloring effects and h ide the ac tua l s lab appearance a re recommended. Concrete Waterproofing Products cannot be responsible for concrete surface appearance when coated with a clear topical sealer.

Tilt-Up Construction Casting slabs where CS2000™ is to be applied should be prepared according to bond breaker manufacturer procedures, to al low the designated bond breaker product to perform. Concrete Waterproofing Products recommends a minimum of 48-hours cure time between the completed CS2000™ application and any type of concrete surface cleaning. Typically the bond breaker manufacturer requires a specific cleaning method prior to application of their product when installing over existing or p r e v i o u s l y c u r e d c o n c r e t e . C o n c r e t e Waterproofing Products recommends to fully pressure wash/mechanically scrub the concrete of all latent CS2000™ material and other cons t ruc t ion debr is thorough ly to the manufacturer requirements of the bond breaker material. Then allow the concrete to dry for 24hrs. Then apply the bond breaker per the manufacturers specifications.

Should freezing of the product occur, please contact Concrete Waterproof ing Products. W h e n h a n d l i n g C S 2 0 0 0 ™ , C o n c r e t e Waterproofing Products recommends following OSHA standards. If splashed in eyes, flush thoroughly with water for 15-minutes. Prolonged excessive contact with skin should be avoided. Wash skin and clothes with water after using product. Do not take internally.

Requirements You have made the right choice; Creteseal CS2000™ is a proactive approach in controlling moisture vapor emission and alkalinity. Concrete Waterproofing Products wants to advise you that there are many conditions that are problematic to the successful installation and maintenance of your projects proposed flooring system. Please be aware, that Concrete Waterproofing Products cannot be responsible for flooring systems that fail due to non-moisture and non-alkalinity conditions. Please notify all involved parties to follow these requirements for a successful flooring installation:

• A Concrete Waterproofing Products Authorized Floor Consultant or Concrete Waterproofing Products Technical Services technician is required to be onsite during the application of CS2000™.

• Concrete slabs placed on grade or below grade must have a vapor retarder placed directly below the slabs with a minimum of 10mil thickness and permeance rating of 0.1 y, as described in ASTM F710-11 “Standard Practice for Preparing Concrete Floors to Receive Resilient Flooring.”

Prior to floor covering installation, the following measures must be taken in order to maintain the Concrete Waterproofing Products 15-year warranty:

The surface area shall be prepared and cleaned of all latent material, dust, debris and any loose material that would compromise the adhesive bond as stated within ASTM F710 “Standard

Practice for Preparing Concrete Floors to Receive Resilient Flooring.”

Any concrete grinding or cutting from the slab surface will remove a significant amount of the CS2000™ treatment. Contact the Concrete Waterproofing Products office to obtain the re-treatment process.

The interior must be acclimated according to the i n d u s t r y s t a n d a r d s a n d t h e f l o o r i n g manufacturer’s requirements.

All cracks/joints/voids must be cleaned out and filled with a Concrete Waterproofing Products approved filler per ASTM F710 standard.

Before patching compounds are applied, check the concrete surface porosity to verify whether or not the patching material needs a primer.

Please check with each flooring manufacturer for their specific adhesive capabilities.
