MIXED CREATURES Hypo-Griffin: A hippogriff is a hybrid imaginary creature. Appearance:

Half horse, half eagle, which resembles a winged horse's body and the head of

an eagle. Maybe, this fabulous beast comes from the Persians and

their Simurgh, a benevolent, mythical flying creature.

Centaur: It is a mythological creature with the head, arms, and torso of a

a human and the body and legs of a horse. This half-human and half-horse

composition has led many writers to treat them as liminal beings, caught

between the two natures, embodied in contrasted myths, both as the

embodiment of untamed nature, as in their battle with the Lapiths (their kin),

or conversely as teachers, like Chiron and Achiles.

Minotaur: Was a creature with the head of a bull on the body of a man or, as

described by Roman poet Ovid, "part man and part bull". He dwelt at the

center of the Labyrinth, which was an elaborate maze-like construction

designed by the architect Daedalus and his son Icarus, on the command of King

Minos of Crete. The Minotaur was eventually killed by the Athenian hero

Theseus.

LONELY PEOPLE VAMPIRES : A vampire is a mythical being who subsists by feeding on

the life-essence (generally in the form of blood) or living creatures.

The notion of vampirism has existed for millennia; cultures such as the

Mesopotamians, Hebrews, Ancient Greeks, and Romans had tales of

demons and spirits which are considered precursors to modern

vampires.

WEREWOLF : A werewolf, also known as a lycanthrope, is a

mythological or folkloric human with the ability to change-shape into a

wolf or a therianthropic (meaning "wild animal" or "beast") hybrid wolf-like

creature, either purposely or after being placed under a curse, a spell

or affliction (e.g. via a bite or scratch from another werewolf). Early

sources for belief in lycanthropy are Petronius and Gervase of Tilbury.

The Vila is the Slavic version of nymphs.

A nymph, in Greek and Latin mythology, is a minor female

Nature deity typically associated with a particular place,

usually in forest and rivers.

Vilas have power over winds and they take delight in causing

storms of high winds.

A leprechaun is a type of fairy in Irish folklore.

They usually take the form of an old man. The Leprechauns

spend all their time busily making shoes, and they store away all

their coins in a hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

THE YETI

The Yeti or Abominable Snowman is an ape-like cryptic creature, taller than

a human, which is said to inhabit the Himalayan region of Nepal and Tibet.

The names Yeti and Meh-Tech are commonly used by the people indigenous

to the region, and are part of their history and mythology.

Stories of the Yeti first emerged in Western popular culture in the 19th

century as THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN.

The scientific community generally regards the Yeti as a legend, given the

lack of conclusive evidence, but it remains one of the most famous

creatures of cryptozoology.

There is a similar legend in North American noth-west mountains and they

call him Big-Foot, also known as Sasquatch.

Loch Ness Monster The Loch Ness Monster is a cryptic creature who reputedly inhabits Loch Ness in the

Scottish Highlands.

It is similar to other supposed lake monsters in Scotland and elsewhere, though its

description varies from one account to the next, with most describing it as large in size.

Popular interest and belief in the animal's existence has varied since it was first brought to

the world's attention in 1933.

Evidence of its existence is anecdotal, with minimal and much-disputed photographic

material and sonar readings.

This is Greek to Me Medusa In Greek mythology Medusa ( Μέδουσα "guardian, protectress")

was a monster, a Gorgon, generally described as having the face of a hideous

human female with living venomous snakes in place of hair.

Gazing directly into her eyes would turn onlookers to stone.

Medusa was be-headed by the hero Perseus, who thereafter used

her head, which retained its ability to turn onlookers to stone, as a weapon

until he gave it to the goddess Athena to place on her shield. In classical

antiquity the image of the head of Medusa appeared in the evil-averting

device known as the Gorgoneion.

Cyclops In In

In Greek mythology and later in Roman mythology, The Cyclops was

a member of a primordial race of giants, each with a single eye in

the middle of their forehead.

The name literally means "round-eyed" or "circle-eyed.

There were two generations of Cyclops. The Cyclops of the

first generation were the children of Uranus and Gaia and

they were well-known craftsmen and builders.

They were giants with a single eye and a horrible temper.

The second generation of Cyclops was a primitive tribe

of huge one-eyed monsters discovered by Odysseus on a remote

island (sometimes identified with Hesperia). They said they were

closely related to the Giants and a Phoenician tribe emerged

from the drops of blood that fell to earth when Uranus was castrated.

Perseo

He is a demi-god in Greek mythology, son of Zeus and Danae .

The Tradition attributed to him the founding of Micenas .

Depending on the version of Pseudo – Apollodorus

and Pausanias, an oracle had told Acrisius, king of Argos,

that he would die at the hands of his own grand-son.

To avoid this, Acrisius locked his daughter Danae in a bronze tower

(or in an underground chamber ) to prevent her from meeting any man .

However , the king of the gods , Zeus , disguised as Golden Rain, entered the room

and Danae became pregnant
