Trip highlights: This is an exciting 2 day road safari that will take you to visit Tsavo East National Park, which is one of the planet's last biodiversity strongholds. The safari starts from your Cruise Ship at the port of Mombasa and ends at the same place.. On this safari, you are likely to spot various species of wild game including the lion, leopard, cheetah, the elephant and a host of other animals found in the plains. You will also be able to see attractions like Aruba Dam, Mudanda Rock, the Lugard's Falls and Yatta Plateau. You will travel in a private safari Tour Van and spend the night in a lodge.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Port of Mombasa - Tsavo East National park

Early in the morning at 7.00am after your breakfast, you will be met at your Cruise ship at the port of mombasa and be warmly received by the driver and/or Tour Manager who will brief you on your safari and escort you to your vehicle for departure to Tsavo East National Park arriving in time for lunch then enjoy an afternoon game viewing drive till evening.

The Tsavo East National Park has an interesting and diverse history including: the Waliangulu and Kamba tribes who used the park as a hunting ground prior to gazette-ment; the first European to see Mount Kenya, rev. Dr. L. Krapf, journeyed on foot through this area in 1848; during the construction of the railway bridge over the Tsavo River in 1898, lions (the famed man-eaters of Tsavo) terrorized the workers, killing over 130 people before being killed by Col. J. H. Patterson. During World War 1, British forces along the Tsavo River encountered threats from invading German soldiers from Tanganyika (now Tanzania); the European explorer Captain Lugard a European explorer passed through the area on his way to Uganda.

Some of the attractions that visitors can enjoy within Tsavo East National Park are the Aruba Dam; located on the north bank of the seasonal Voi River, visited by thousands of animals and making it a great game viewing destination, Mudanda Rock; which is a whale-backed rock towering above a natural dam and which acts as a draw to hundreds of elephant, The Yatta Plateau; which is the longest lava flow in the world and an ornithological paradise that attracts migrating birds from all over the world and The Lugard's Falls; through which the waters of the Galana River plunge into foaming rapids and crocodile-infested pools.

Tsavo West national park covers 9000 km2, approximately 30% of Kenya's area under parks, and contains a diversity of habitats, wildlife and a mountainous scenic landscape. The park is a vast expanse of savanna stretching from the Athi River, North of the Mombasa-Nairobi road and south to the Tanzanian border. The North Eastern boundary along the Athi adjoins Tsavo East National Park, but Tsavo West has a more varied topography and a more diverse array of habitats than its neighbour. The park's habitats include open plains alternating with Savannah bush and semi desert scrub, acacia woodlands; rocky ridges and outcrops and more extensive ranges and isolated hills; belts of river line vegetation; palm thickets and on the Chyulu hills, mountain forest. The lava that purifies Mzima's water can be seen in black outcrops all around this part of Tsavo.

Amboseli National Park the combination of scenery, people and animals is what makes the Amboseli national park of fascinating. Beautifully situated at the foot of the towering Kilimanjaro, it Is the home of the brightly painted Maasai tribe, here you can see lions , cheetahs, spotted hyenas and wild dogs as well as gnus , Kaffir buffaloes , Burch ell’s zebras and herds of elephants . All these animals come to drink at water holes consisting of small lakes or muddy ponds kept filled up by water from the melting snows of Kilimanjaro. The northern lake Amboseli contains water only after rain.

There is also an in-built Glass-Tank for observation of the crocodiles and hippos.

Among its attractions include: Chaimu and Shetani Lava flows and the Mzima springs whose source is the Chyulu Hills and provides fresh water to most of Mombasa. There is also an in-built Glass-Tank for observation of the crocodiles and hippos.

Day 4: Tsavo West National Park – Amboseli National ParkHave an early morning breakfast then depart to Mzima Springs. There after proceed towards Amboseli Park; Kilimanjaro snowy peak view will be constant traveling companion during enroute game drive. Lunch will be at Amboseli Serena Lodge; in the afternoon have second game drive with a visit to a Maasai Village. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Amboseli National Park the combination of scenery, people and animals is what makes the Amboseli national park of fascinating. Beautifully situated at the foot of the towering Kilimanjaro, it Is the home of the brightly painted Maasai tribe, here you can see lions , cheetahs, spotted hyenas and wild dogs as well as gnus , Kaffir buffaloes , Burch ell’s zebras and herds of elephants . All these animals come to drink at water holes consisting of small lakes or muddy ponds kept filled up by water from the melting snows of Kilimanjaro. The northern lake Amboseli contains water only after rain.

Day 5: Amboseli National Park - MombasaHave an early breakfast the bid Amboseli National Park goodbye and proceed towards the Kenyan coast. You will have your lunch at Voi town. After lunch proceed to the coast for your beach holiday stay.
