Every human group has its own different, unique culture.

Where they live, how they live usually make their culture different from each other.

For example; if the group lives in a cold place on top of a mountain, their culture will be different from another group that lives in a hot place near the sea.

Many different things make up a group’s culture.

For example; their food , their language, their clothing, their tools, their music, their art and their beliefs.

Before starting research for our project, we need research questions. For this project, the research questions will have factual answers. Your teachers have prepared research questions for you. How do we find facts? We need good resources that are credible, safe, and easy to understand. When we find the answers to our questions, can we just copy and paste the answers to present them? NO!! This term our new project’s name is FOOD AND CULTURE project!

We learned about what culture is. Now, it is time to learn more about other country cultures.

• First, your teacher will tell you the country we will research.

• Then, your teacher will put you into groups. Each group will find out about some parts of that country’s culture. In the group, every person will have a different research topic. See the topics below:

- Topic 1 : Special food & drinks of that country

- Topic 2 : Location & Landscapes ( mountains, rivers, seas, …. of that country)

- Topic 3 : History/ Past of that country and its language

- Topic 4 : Art, music / special dances of that country

- Topic 5 : Flag and special clothing of that country

• After your research and note taking, you will prepare your poster as a group.

• We will have a poster presentation day and you will present your findings to your class.

• At the end of that day, your teacher will have a surprise for you! ☺ Here is a little clue; it’s a tasty surprise of that country! ☺

• Each group will have some questions to answer.

• Use the research resources from page 7 and some that your teacher provides.
