The dependence curse Isn't it weird how we take our comfortableness for granted? We have enough water, electricity for all little things and heated homes. When these convenient things disappear like during a power outage we become puzzled. No water. No lights. No heat. Would we even be able to live without electricity? Of course people have always been able to live their lives without it. But I mean us who have become so accustomed to it. The worst case scenario would be if the power never came back. How would we see at night and how would we obtain, store or prepare food? For hundreds of years the knowledge was passed on through generations. Today we instead depend on people we have not met but who has the knowledge. I am not sure if many people in the industrialised countries know e.g. how to keep meat from rotting without refrigeration or freezing. A lot of knowledge has been lost but at the same time thanks to the development and industrialisation we can use our time making ours as well as others lives better. We live longer and know that our children can get help if they are sick. Unfortunately, with the risk of loosing it all in a disaster. Cristian

The dependence curse

Isn't it weird how we take our comfortableness for granted?
