BRANDING // ECOBUILD

Following a series of brand development

workshops, in which the context of the name was

debated, we created a new brand for Ecobuild,

the UK’s leading event for the built environment.

The brand was designed to focus on ‘building’

whilst still incorporating ‘eco’, but without eco

being the brand hero. To illustrate the diversity

of the show we created a tag line to show the

different stages of the construction process the

show encompasses.

An infographic style was then adopted to illustrate

key facts about the event

Brett Martin is a manufacturer of plastic building products. Compared to

competitors, its plumbing and drainage division is relatively small but the

company has a number of unique products and systems. Rather than follow

competitors and create advertisements that featured product images, we

created a series of advertisements that played on product attributes set

against blockbuster movie posters. The advertisements formed a series of

mini campaigns with promotions running through merchants and distributors

with associated prizes such as a trip to New York and cinema tickets.

of different messages - some aimed at enticing

manufacturer Sika, we were tasked

with creating a series of brochures

for key service offerings such as its

concrete repair solutions.

The brochures had to contain

signifiicant product information

and the challenge was how to

present this in a structured yet visual

manner.

Our approach saw the adoption

of a clean, professional layout,

combined with simple yet effective

infographics, designed to illustrate

key messages.

and their applications. Having decided upon an

application first approach we created a series of

brochures that offered an easy to read yet visual

approach to presenting technical information.

a way that was creative and professional.

CFA has worked with specialist land

based college, Hadlow College, for

a number of years, creating annual

reports and prospectuses for full time

and part time courses. Each year the

client has set us the challenge of

creating prospectuses that are visually

different from the previous year and

are seen as a benchmark of modern

design combined with efficient content

communication.

We have created many different

formats over the years and helped

to ensure that Hadlow College’s

prospectuses are admired and

aspired to by many other educational

CORPORATE LITERATURE // CRASH CHARITY

CRASH is the construction industry

charity, assisting hospices and

homeless charity through pro bono

professional services and sourcing

materials. Whilst the charity has a

high industry awareness, there was a

need to educate the industry on how

they could get involved. We created

a series of marketing collateral

including exhibition stands, website

graphics and a fundraising brochure.

A graphical story telling document, the

fundraising brochure provided readers

with a visual way of finding out how

they could support the charity in an

sympathetic manner.

CORPORATE LITERATURE // BRIGGS AMASCO

To celebrate 150 years of trading,

contractor BriggsAmasco wanted

to create a one-off brochure that

would capture their history and

achievements.

Given the significance of the

brochure, we encouraged the client

to push the design boundaries to

create a document that was unique,

memorable and would stand the test

of time.

A coffee table book was agreed upon

as it had the required professional

finish and lent itself to maximum

imagery.

Working to a tight deadline, we

sourced photography (from past

to present) and created a number

of illustrations and timelines to

provide a variety of imagery. We also

managed the print and encouraged

the client to employ special printing

effects and finishes.

As part of its work with the

EU to promote open spaces,

CFA was commissioned by

Southend Borough Council

and the Essex Wildlife Trust

to produce sympathetic

signage for a major

woodland area.

This consisted of information

signs to provide background

regarding local wildlife

to more conventional

directional signage covering

key landmarks and a major

woodland centre.

Although some signage was

produced using conventional

metal sheeting, the majority

was especially designed

to use local materials

grown and coppiced in the

woodland area itself. These

were produced with stunning

effect by the CFA team.
