Assisted in organizing and conducting Operation Teamster Medic. (2003). Medical assistance mission for humans and beasts of burden in the remote mountain village of Goroko in extreme eastern Afghanistan. Faculty and senior students from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Nangarhar University were integrated into a U.S.-led team that established professional relationships while serving the needs of a rural Afghan village. 450 humans and 1200 animals were treated but the real success was the interaction among Afghan and American professionals.
