Matt is stuck in a rut. He's a qualified and chartered librarian with 10 years experience in the health sector. He wants to stay in health but move into a management role, but lacks staff management experience.

What CPD could Matt do to address this and help him move into management?

Scenario 3

Clara is working part-time as a library assistant in a public library. She has 3 young children which keep her busy outside of work. Now the youngest child is at school Clara is starting to think about going back to work full time and pursuing a career in public libraries.

What CPD could Clara pursue to realise this?

Scenario 4

Adam has been made redundant from his role as Team Leader in a public library. He wants to make sure he stays involved in LIS activities while he finds a new job.

Scenario 5

Bob is disappointed. His employer won't fund him to go to a conference as the staff development budget has been cut. Bob is convinced the conference would not only be great CPD for him, but beneficial for the service.

Maggie loves her job as a solo school librarian, but this means it's rare that she can attend conferences, meetings with other school librarians. She's worried she's missing out on good ideas and sharing good practice.
