    COURSE INFORMATION

  • How long will it take? The standard course duration is 3 years full time within an apprenticeship, however duration may vary depending on individual circumstances.

    Is the course subsidised?If you meet the eligibility criteria the cost of the course may be subsidised by the NSW Government under the Smart and Skilled Program. Contact us to find out if you qualify. If not you can still enrol as a full fee student. For current fee information please visit our website.

    Future pathwaysAfter completing CPC31511 Certificate III in Formwork/Falsework you may decide to further your training with a CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) or CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building).

    UnitsParticipants need to complete 25 units of competency consisting of 19 core units plus 6 elective units. Two of your elective units may be chosen from any Certificate III or Certificate IV qualification or accredited course. CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the the construction industry (or equivalent) is the white card unit that is required before anyone can enter a construction site.

    Enrolment checklistYou are currently working in the building and construction industry and have been registered or are intending to be registered in a NSW Formwork/Falsework Apprenticeship.

    You are over 15 years of age (if you’re under 18, your parent or guardian must sign the enrolment form on your behalf)

    You are able to attend the scheduled training sessions as per the timetable agreed with your employer

    You hold a White Card which is required before you step on to a building and construction site.

    Depending on the elective units you select, CPC31511 Certificate III in Formwork/Falsework may cover: bulkheads and partitions; timber external stairs; jump and slip form formwork curtain walling; and operating elevated work platforms.

    This course enables you to work as a qualified formworker.
