Scientists worked feverishly to reduce Earth’s precious life forms to their basic DA for transport on giant starships called "bioships" in search of a new home. !n the Earth year 2212, the bioships left Earth. Several centuries into their "ourney, Earth’s convoy discovered a parall el #niverse $%osmos& also, in pursuit of a new home. 'oth worlds (uickly became pitted against each other in a race for %o)mica. *ere’s your chance to test your skills as +leet %ommander. i ll you be the one t o coloni)e the planet %o)mica in a distant gala-y.  ote/ bioships may also referred to as, #nits, Ships, or Pieces. INSTRUCTIONS 1. Objective: Establish DA colonies. A colony is one of each DA type. 0ne Plant, one Animal and one 1icrobe. *ere2s how/ 1. 'y moving your bioships across the board to the last row and e-iting them off the board. 2. 'y t rapping and capturing opposing bioships. 4. hen you have collected 1 of each DA type $animal, plant, microbe& by capturing or e-iting, or both, you have established a colony.  2. Boar ! bioships: %o)mica is a  -  line grid board with #1 intersections 3points, positions4. 5here are $% bioships. 1# black ships and 1# white ships. 5here are $ DA types, A!1A6, P6A5 AD 1!%70'E. Each bioship carries 1 of $ DA types/ marked with a graphic symbol showing, Animal, Plant, or 1icrobe. $See below& &'a(t )  *(ima' ) +icrobe ) $. I(itia' Game Set,p: 7ows Are *ori)ontal. %olumns Are 8ertical. 8E79 !1P075A5: 'lack and hite set their bioships on intersections of the lines 05 !S!DE 5*E S;#A7ES. 3See illustration above4 Place bioships left to right on the 1st and 2nd rows in this order<1icrobe< Animal< Plant until all bioships are on the board. 5he 0ther pla yer sets up the way on the other side of the board. As you become familiar with the game, players may choose their own set up se(uence of pieces, staying within the = st  two rows on their side. E-ample/ A nimal > Plant ? 1icrobe , etc. !nstead of/ 1icrobe > Animal > Plant. 5hey do not have to be the same on each side of the board. 4. To Be-i( &'a./ Decide who will command the black or white ships. 'lack moves first. 'oth players move following the rules below. 4a. bioship +oveme(t: bioships move 1 or 2 positions in a straight line vertically, hori)ontally, or diagonall y from point to point on the  intersections,  moving only one direction per turn. !llustrati on shows moves going outward from center with # possible choices of direction, 1% potential landing positions. 9ou can intercept opponent bioships by legally moving your appropriate  bioship to the @targets2 position and replacing it with your own. 9ou can o('. i(tercept and eliminate opponent ships,  /I*GON*00 2 positions away from your ships2 position. 3See diagram4. 9ou cannot intercept opponent bioships on the 1 st  position, immediately ad"acent to the starting position of the move. $1arked & A bioship with Animal DA can only intercept an opposition Plant DA. bioship. A Plant DA bioship can only intercept an opposition 1icrobe DA bioship. 6d. CROSSING *N/ 79ITING:  5o moveyour bioships across the board to the lastrow on the opponent2s side and finally e-itthe board. 39ou must leave your ship onthe board at least one turn before e-itingthe board. 39ou may leave your ship thereas long as you like4

6e. B0OCING/ 5o prevent opponentsmove in a certain direction.

5he now free bioship is once again turnedupright to show its DA type is back inaction.

9ou can be trapped if you land and  stopon a vacant position that is sandwichedon 2 opposing sides or more by theopposition.

A bioship cannot be intercepted andterminated while trapped.
