Theatre, to me, is more than a hobby.

It is very special to me, and has made a huge impact in my life. While other people might find it aggravating to

constantly have to memorize a script or to attend countless rehearsals, I find joy in it. The itchy costumes, the

several layers of make-up, and the many lost bobby pins are all small things in comparison to the final product. And now, this being my 6th

year as a theatre student, I know very well what that feels like.

In high school theatre, you start by

arriving the first day of school, and usually you already have your role assigned. In some cases, you will

audition shortly after the school year begins. But once you know your role, it’s time to begin to memorize your script as soon as possible - a task in

which highlighters are very much appreciated!

In your script, you scribble down your

blocking, notes from the director, and so on. Your script is very important in the pre-production process. However, you

don’t carry your script with you onstage for long! There is a deadline to knowing your lines by heart, and once you have

accomplished that task, you can start adding color to your character. The role isn’t just lines, it’s acting and reacting to other characters, and giving your role

traits that the audience members will fall in love with.

Then you move onto costumes, another important aspect in the development of your character. After costumes, or in

some cases before, we begin to work on set construction, and bring the setting to life! Then come the tech rehearsals, & the dress rehearsals, and finally, opening

night arrives almost too quickly. The butterflies fill your stomach as you walk on stage in the dark, and the moment

that the lights hit your face... it feels wonderful. And then, when you see the audience reacting, laughing, booing, and

cheering, it’s such a wonderful feeling. It’s so inspiring, and so encouraging.

I think the best thing you get out of

doing theatre in high school is the long lasting friendships you make. You never forget the memories you make with your cast. And it’s a great feeling to see

your hard work for months finally pay off as the curtains open, the lights come up, and the show begins.

BEFORE THE CURTAIN OPENSWHAT HAPPENS BEHIND THE SCENES

Jason Dysart puts the finishing touches on his make-up before showtime, where he will give his monologue “Native American Folktale”.

Peyton Visnor, the make-up artist for the 2014 production of “Life Lines”, assists Brendan Meyer is applying his make-up before the show.

Peyton’s cousin, Celah, stopped by for a show and assisted Peyton. In this picture, she assists Alora Cochrane with her make-up for the show.

For only $75,000 you could be traveling in the World View Enterprises Edge of Space balloon. The chairwoman and president of the program is Jane Poynter whose husband is Paragon co-founder and Chief executive, Taber MacCallum. Together they have been working on the balloon flight, people have already placed in their tickets. So this is how it works. You would be ascending for about two hours until you see the curvature of earth. That is where you get to see the blackness of space with beautiful earth underneath you. You will be spending about two hours once you're into the edge of space. Then you will start heading back down to earth, which will take about forty minutes. The interior of the capsule can hold up to eight passengers. While on board, passengers can have drinks

in the bar area. The passengers could possibly feeling some weightlessness. World View will be starting commercial fights in the year 2016. Their price is not as much as what Virgin Galactic’s price is, which is $250,000 per ticket. The Virgin Galactic does offer a couple of minutes of weightlessness in which the balloon in World View Enterprises does not. Here are some benefits that World View offers: less expensive ride, less training requirements for crew, instead of a couple minutes the ride will last a couple of hours, it will be a smoother ride for instruments and passengers, and this will also include an increased view over Virgin Galactic. So, if you have the time and money start your journey now!

Here is the capsule in an artists conception. This is what it would be like for a passenger, but there still would not be any feeling of weightlessness.

This is the bottom of the capsule, in a possible test flight, World View will not be doing commercial flights until 2016.

This is the capsule at its launch site. By then workers would be checking and filling up the helium balloon.

Here it is once again at its launch site. Once the capsule is done descending, the ground crew brings it back to the launch site. The entire flight would be about five to six hours in all..

Vincent van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh is considered one of the most influential artists who ever lived. His unique style

and technique captured the attention of people from all over the world. His art is admired and celebrated for its brilliant use of color and flowing brush strokes. Van Gogh created nearly 150 watercolor paintings, 864 oil paintings, 1,037 sketches, and 133 sketches in letters that he sent to his brother. Vincent Willem van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853 in the village of Groot-Zundert, Netherlands.

He was the eldest son of six children born to Theodorus van Gogh and Anna Cornelia Carbentus. Vincent was interested in art from an early age. He began drawing as a child and continued to do so leading up to his decision to become an artist. On September 15, 1866, van Gogh went to a middle school called Willem II College where he was taught to draw by a successful artist from Paris named Constantine C. Huysmans. However, van Gogh only started to paint in his late twenties. He is best known for his works from the last

two years of his life. He died on July 29, 1890.

Van Gogh began as a self-taught painter who believed that to be a painter you had to master drawing first. When he was satisfied with his drawing technique, he began to add color and develop his own signature style. Van Gogh was influenced by many artists. These artists, such as Gauguin, Millet,

Pissarro, Monet, Rembrandt, and Bernard, had lasting impacts on van Gogh’s technique. In 1886, when van Gogh moved to Paris, he was greatly influenced by Impressionism and Post-impressionism. This exposure led van Gogh to experiment and use more bright and vivid colors. In Paris, 1887, van Gogh met Paul Gauguin, one of the biggest artistic influences on van Gogh. Later in 1888, van Gogh and Gauguin lived together in Arles where they both adopted similar methods of applying paint. He also adopted

Gauguin’s technique of painting from memory which resulted in giving his art an unrealistic flare.

In 1888, van Gogh began to suffer from forms of epilepsy, psychotic attacks, and delusions. He

committed himself into an asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence after threatening Paul Gauguin with a knife. Although he could not draw or paint for long periods of time without suffering from mental attacks, van Gogh was able to create what is considered his most popular and influential work, The Starry Night. The Starry Night portrays van Gogh’s view from his sanitarium room window at night and is thought to reflect his mental state at the time. He used the method he learned from Gauguin, and painted The Starry Night

from memory during the day. The creation of The Starry Night marks a turn towards greater creative freedom in his art.

RPG MAKER VX ACE --THE WORLD’S MOST ELEGANT RPG MAKER

In  this  edition  of  the  paper,  I  decided  to  make  my  article  about  the  world’s  simplest  RPG  Maker  program  out  on  the  web.  This  program  is  named  RPG  Maker  VX  ACE.  It’s  so  simple  that  even  a  person  with  absolutely  no  experience  with  game  design  can  design  their  dream  RPG  game.  It  comes  with  multiple  supporting  tools  that  work  with  absolutely  no  issues.

Lets  Hirst  review  the  mapping  tool.  It  comes  with  all-‐purpose  tilesets,  which  you  can  use  for  just  about  everything.  So  you  can  basically  build  a  forest  to  a  city  with  little  to  no  problems!  Now  let’s  talk  about  the  character-‐building  program.  It  allows  building  personalized  characters  instead  of  being  forced  to  used  pre-‐made  ugly  ones.  Once  you’re  done  creating  your  character,  it  auto  imports  into  the  system  for  you  so  that  you  do  not  have  to  do  any  extra  work.  It  also  comes  with  multiple  set  events  like  being  attacked  or  talking  to  an  npc  “None  Playing  Character”,  so  its  easy  to  add  dialogue  and  battles  without  spending  hours  developing  the  code  to  do  simple  Hights  or  having  a  simple  conversation  with  an  npc.  It  also  allows  you  to  make  many  other  things  like  cut  scenes,  chests,  teleports,  change  of  weather  and  much  more.

When  you  need  to  test  your  game  it  has  a  very  simple  and  easy  to  use  testing  feature  that  allows  you  to  test  at  any  moment  instead  of  having  to  test  when  you  Hinish  the  game.  It  just  allows  you  to  do  it  right  then  and  there.  Now  I  have  personally  used  and  bought  this  tool,  and  I  really  suggest  to  anyone  who  wants  to  play  around  or  create  a  game  to  try  it  and  see  if  you  love  making  games.  Now  even  though  I  said  I  bought  it  the  company  allows  it  a  free  month  to  use  and  play  around  with  it  because  the  people  who  made  the  program  know  that  not  everyone  wants  to  continue  creating  a  game  that  they  don’t  enjoy  making.  So  go  out  and  try  this  amazing  created  program!  http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/products/programs/rpg-‐maker-‐vx-‐ace
