INTRODUCTION Dear WEC Competitors, Officials, Support and Organisation staff, We are all very happy to be able to be back on track to resume the 2020 WEC season. Nevertheless, the COVID-19 situation is still extremely sensitive, and we must all work together to guarantee a safe event. This will be the responsibility of each and all of us. With the local authorities, the circuit, medical experts, FIA and ACO, we have established a WEC health protocol. It is important that we pay great attention to strictly respect this protocol; our target is to significantly modify the event procedures to ensure limiting of all risks. There is no other option than to follow this protocol and we thank you in advance for helping us to safely deliver this event; we also believe that an individual responsible attitude must be applied. We also thank you for your involvement and full understanding. To conclude, stay safe and healthy and we wish you a great race.

Gérard Neveu C.E.O.

The health and safety of the WEC competitors, associated industries, suppliers and employees has always been a priority since the pandemic began. As part of the fight against the spread of the “COVID-19” coronavirus, specific preventive measures are being rolled out in addition to our Rules and Regulations, with a view to the protection of public health and the personal prevention of risks associated with the epidemic. This plan will constantly be adapted to comply with the current regulatory and health situation in the relevant country in order to minimise the risk of COVID-19 exposure and spread. LMEM reserves the right to change, update or modify this protocol at any time before or during an event. As a reminder, this event will be held behind “closed doors” which means that no spectators will be allowed at the circuit. WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19? * The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, dry cough, and tiredness. Other symptoms that are less common and may affect some patients include aches and pains, nasal congestion, headache, conjunctivitis, sore throat, diarrhoea, loss of taste or smell or a rash on skin or discoloration of fingers or toes. These symptoms are usually mild and begin gradually. Some people become infected but only have very mild symptoms.

HOW TO PROPERLY WEAR A MASK? *

1. Before touching the mask, clean hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or soap

and water

2. Take the mask and inspect it for tears or holes.

3. Orient which side is the top side (where the metal strip is).

4. Ensure the proper side of the mask faces outwards (the coloured side).

5. Place the mask to your face. Pinch the metal strip or stiff edge of the mask so it

moulds to the shape of your nose.

6. Pull down the mask’s bottom so it covers your mouth and your chin.

7. Do not touch the mask while you are wearing it for protection.

8. After use, take off the mask with clean hands; remove the elastic loops from

behind the ears while keeping the mask away from your face and clothes, to

avoid touching potentially contaminated surfaces of the mask.

9. Discard the mask in a closed bin immediately after use. Do not reuse the mask.

10. Perform hand hygiene after touching or discarding the mask – Use alcohol-

based hand rub or, if visibly soiled, wash your hands with soap and water.

In order to guarantee optimal safety and to minimize the risks of virus transmission, wearing a face mask (surgical or washable state homologated) will be mandatory in all areas inside the circuit during the whole event duration.

Remember that masks are not a substitute for other, more effective ways to protect yourself and others against COVID-19 such as frequently washing your hands, covering your cough with the bend of elbow or tissue and maintain a distance of at least 1.5 metres (specific recommendation from the Belgian Authorities) from others.

LIFE IN THE PADDOCK:

- It is recommended that any person allowed and accredited to take part in the event promotes the use of regular and effective core transmission mitigation measures.

- In order to guarantee optimal safety and to minimise the risks of virus transmission, wearing a face mask (surgical or washable state homologated) will be mandatory in all areas inside the circuit (pit building, Race Control, Organisation office, briefing room, paddock, pit lane, pit garage, media centre …).

- Within the team catering in the paddock, specific rules and guidelines will be applied as shown in the “catering protocol” document.

- Each team will be permitted to use its own hospitality and caterer (no awning sharing between different Groups)

- Guidelines will be provided that act as a reference point for relevant information and facilitate a consistent, workable approach for motorsport competitions in a COVID-19 operating environment.

- All circuit facilities and toilets will be cleaned regularly daily. It is highly recommended

to teams that they clean all touch surfaces as often as possible (minimum 3 times a day) to reduce the transmission of the virus which may be present upon them.

- Each team/manufacturer/supplier will be identified as one “Group”. The idea is to avoid as much as possible interactions between different Groups. For example, each team will be allocated a garage and will be not be allowed to visit another team in its garage.

- In addition, it is strongly recommended that individual Groups be further divided into smaller Sub-Groups to improve operational resilience. As with Groups, the number of interactions between Sub-Groups should be minimised, and where interactions between Sub-Groups must occur, social distancing must be respected, or additional personal protective equipment should be used.
