Dear Sir,

We proudly introduce ourselves as part of one of the oldest engineering college in India Jabalpur

Engineering College Jabalpur, established as Government Engineering College Jabalpur in 1947.

Foundation stone of Industrial and Production Engineering Department was laid in the Golden Jubilee

year of the college in 1997. Since then the department is striving to develop a vibrant academic culture

amongst its students. To a great extent we have succeeded in our efforts.

We realize that with the international barriers shrinking and the world becoming a smaller place, we

need to constantly evolve and change with time. We in our department are therefore making our

students familiar with new concepts in Industrial, production and management like Automation,

Robotics, CIM, TQM, Six Sigma, TPM, MRP, JIT etc. Apart from it we are also teaching core subjects

like OR, Materials Management, Product Design and Development, CAD, CAM, Metal Cutting,

Welding, Metal Forming, Casting etc.

But an important area where we find ourselves lagging is the interaction with industries. We know this

gap can be bridged if we proactively approach industries and seek their support. Perhaps it will be in the

mutual interest of both. Particularly our students will benefit the most as it will expose them to the state

of the art technological and management practices adopted in the industries. This will definitely help inreinforcing their technical, managerial and human skills. We as teachers also want our lectures to be

supplemented by case studies, interactive sessions with industry personnels, industrial training/visits,

involvement in the live projects.

We are sure the students passing out after undergoing such a teaching-industrial training regimen will

have skill sets that suits industry and in future will help them to seamlessly merge with the industrial

culture and value system.

We would like to hear from you in what way we can interact with you.

Can we send our students for one month summer/winter training?

Can you involve our students in the implementation of projects/quality initiative like TQM, TPM, 5S,

Six Sigma etc.?

Can you come to our college to deliver expert lectures? In fact there are so many ways in which you

would like to interact with us. Please do let us know.

We would also like to know from you, your expectations from technical institutes, so that we can

improve and deliver products as per your specifications.
