Purpose & Objectives:• Students will create a mini line of 6 coordinated apparel garments and

introduce their designs through a formal presentation as well as a spiral-bound development book. The purpose of this project is to have the students conceptualize an original line of apparel for a specific target market utilizing a number of different concepts covered throughout the semester.

• Through completion of the project, students will put their knowledge of apparel components, styles, and silhouettes to use. Each group will predict the contributions of different component materials to overall quality, cost, performance, function, and aesthetic criteria. You will also analyze the relationship between fabric, construction, fashion, and intended end use.

Learning Outcomes:• How to create a functional line that is specified for a certain target market.• How to identify the correct seam, seam finish, and hem for a certain fabric,

garment, and it’s function.• How to calculate and decide the right price for your line that will benefit your

company and target market.
