All students who choose to submit a project to the story writing contest must submit an accompanying cover letter. If you submit as a group, please include one cover letter that you create together. This letter will be read by the Selection Committee who read and give feedback on each story submitted. The purpose of your letter is to provide important information about your project that will help the Selection Committee evaluate your work. Start your cover letter with: Dear Selection Committee, Please find attached my Story Project. Then use the questions below to help you draft your cover letter. You can choose to answer the questions in order or out of order, but please make sure that your letter addresses each question. 1. What is the title of your story? 2. How would you summarize your storyline in a few sentences? 3. What does your story say about Power & Community to create a better life for yourself, friend(s), family member(s) or others? 4. Which parts of your story do you think other teens will connect with? Is it the characters, the setting of the story, conversations between characters(dialog) or events in the story? Explain. 5. In what ways do the characters, plot, or conflict in your story challenge stereotypes about different groups? 6. Think back to what you intended to create for your Reverse the Crisis story. Do you think you were successful in meeting your goals for your story? Why or why not? What was fun or interesting to do with your story? What would you have done differently if you had more time, support or something else? 7. Is there anything else you think the Selection Committee should know about your Reverse the Crises story? Dear Student,

Congratulations! We are excited to receive your story! This letter has information on how to submit to

the contest. All students who choose to submit a project to the story writing contest must submit an

accompanying cover letter. If you submit as a group, please include one cover letter that you create
