Handouts by Instructor

Svy & Leaveling by Kanetkar ( vol -1 & vol -2) Surveying by Barry Kavanagh

Notes: All students are advised to be always in possession of electronic

calculators while coming for survey class.

The students must attend all classes in general and all practicals inparticulars as marks are earmarked for each practical session.

Practical work will not stop due to harsh weather or rain. Studentsmay like to arrange necessary protective measures.

All students are advised to be punctual. Late comers will not bemarked present.

During field work students must not look at sun through thetelescope of a theodolite/ total station/ level.

No student is allowed to leave training area while practical work isin progress.

All norms of a class room will be observed during field work i.esmoking, loitering and use of mobile phone will not be permitted.

SURVEYING  –  II (CE-221)

Practical field work will be conducted in syndicates / groups .

The class will be divided in six syndicates of equal number of students. All female students will be included in one syndicate.

Please form syndicates of your own choice and give me the list inthe next period.

Syndicates once made will not be changed till the end of semester.

Each syndicate will acquire one folder in which all theOROGINAL DATA (RECORDED WITH INK PEN) of dailyfield work will be maintained. A list of syndicate members willalso be displayed.

Survey instruments will be handled with utmost care. Careless

handling or damage to the instruments will not be accepted. Exam papers will have a touch of practical work. Those students

who will work hard in the field are likely to do better in exams.

A system of mutual assessment has also been introduced topromote the spirit of team work and cooperation
