Prerequisites Professor : Ms. Nurit B Klejman Email: [email protected] Office Hours: Upon appointment Grade Distribution: 20% -Oral Presentation, 20%- writing CV, 50% - Written Assignment Project 10%- Presentation of Written Assignment Course Objectives: The course aims to develop students' proficiency at speaking, reading and writing intelligently and perceptively in Business English within the framework of general engineering. An additional aim is to build students' confidence in English, in preparation for real-life professional interaction in the industry. Course Subjects: CV Training, Effective Communication, Making a Presentation, Writing business letters and emails, Report writing, Meetings, Time management, Product promotion, and Marketing. In-class simulations will involve interviewing, negotiating and decision making processes. Course Structure: The course relies on a 3-hour weekly session for a period of 14 weeks. Each session aspires to incorporate the four main skills of language learning, namely; speaking and listening, writing and reading The final exam of the course incorporates all class lessons. Learning Outcome: The course will enhance students' level of proficiency in speaking, reading and writing of work related English. It will increase their confidence in dealing with real-life professional situations, which they are likely to encounter upon entrance into the industrial world. Course Rules: Attendance of 80% or above is compulsory. Students with testing accommodations- התאמותare responsible to coordinate with the Learning Disabilities Center.
