This 8-hour training acquaints participants with the basic elements of the OSHA processsafety management (PSM) standard and why each regulated workplace needs to establish aPSM organizational structure to oversee its program implementation. The course introducesthe concept of systems of safety and accident prevention; allows the trainees to becomefamiliar with the OSHA performance-based requirements for a workplace “mechanicalintegrity” program; and examines the causes and solutions of “breakdown” maintenance. Italso touches on conducting accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, focusing on rootcauses.
